[ A pause where he debates if he should say anything else or not. ]

[His roommate. They'd been through a lot together, and while... while he thought he was gone, he just wasn't sure if that was true. But it had to be, right?]

I, um... there's a room full of his stuff, if you want to go through it with me, later. I know it's tough, and we can be as slow as we want. It can wait.

[ He wishes it wasn't. There's no denying the facts, though, is there? ]

Yeah. Yeah, sure, I'll take some time off, so just come over whenever you'd like to. I'll get some boxes, it'll... [Falls silent and sighs.]

I'm not very good with this. I'm really sorry. He was a good friend.

[ He's bad at this too so he can't really complain. ]

...How long did you know him?

We... met in January, when we both got caught out in the darkness and had to run from the monsters. We'd been living together ever since.

...that's a while.

[ A beat. ]

Was he happy?

Yeah, we were pretty good friends. I think he was! He seemed it, even when he was kicking in the TV because he saw something on it he didn't like.

[ That...actually gets a bit of a smile out of him. ]

Sounds like him.

[ A pause, then: ]

I'm glad you got to know him.

I'm glad, too. He was a really great guy, and I'm...I'm going to miss him.
