[The screen flicks on. For about eight seconds, Eric doesn't appear to realize it's recording while he's studying the buttons. He hisses under his breath while he prods the network controls

This other attracted trouble from AGI - it's less an 'issue' and more something to be careful of. AGI can be a bit aggressive, I wouldn't want you - or anyone else - to fall victim to mistaken identity.
I've been here over a year now, but I remember my first week.
Good. If you have any complications, drop in, we'll get it sorted out.
[Huff] If they're that powerful surely they can manage that sometimes people have the same name. I'm not concerned, but I appreciate your advice. You certainly made more sense than the last person who tried to warn me.
[The second part of the statement seems to sink in.] I... a year... first week? No... I...
You vastly over estimate the intelligence of thugs in numbers.
[So. Very. Drily.]
You may not be, but I'm afraid it's not up to you or any of us here. If it's any consultation at all, time almost freezes while we are here - no time will pass at home, not even seconds, while you are here, no matter how long that is.
[Eric merely shrugs, not being one to ever feel overly threatened by the thought of humans, no matter how malicious. They'd never been much of a threat before.
The second part seems to get through to him though.]
So people keep telling me. I try to take comfort on it but... I know I go on but... someone needs me. If he's not there when I get back I... I...
[HUMANS die. Death Gods don't. Why do humans care so much when they a'll know that the reapers come for them eventually? No, a death god's life is different. No doubt.]
[Priorities.]
I'm afraid there isn't an answer on how to get home.

Darkness? I ah... well I left the baseball field after I arrived and something got the drop on me. Is that what you mean?
Don't be daft. If there's a way in there's a way out.

The Darkness is the decaying force and the monsters which occur after sundown and leave at sunrise - typically referred to 'after Sirens' or Darkness.
I didn't say there was a way out - I said there isn't an answer as to how this is accomplished.

[Something about the description triggers a memory. He looks thoughtful for a second, then speaks.]
I DID hear sirens right after I went down. Something got me from behind, otherwise I would have been fine.

Yes, one of the monsters. I take it you didn't listen to the greeter?
Reply
Not really. I had... something more urgent to worry about.

Most of us do. Let me send you some information.
[He sends a link to the Bestiary, and PDF's of maps, and a pamphlet with contact info of the Newcomer Community Centre Clinic.

[He fumbles with the device again, checking the links. It's the same stuff he's been told, only in more detail. Still... detail is nice.]
Thank you... [He's still not sure he trusts that any of this information is actually true. But, it's something.]
A clinic's good, if you can get to one. [He smirks.]

There's a photographer of that name here.
You're welcome. I wish that could be of more help.
In the least, we can help repair the damage.

You've been as helpful as anyone else, and more helpful than most.
Anyway, if I could go to the clinic I wouldn't need it. But, I had someone check in on me. I think it's all right.
