- More in the bounty hunting controversy as Allen Wheeler, the hacker who released electronic ‘business transaction’ information to the general public over the NV network, was found dead in the Underground Mall late last night. Wheeler had been evading police for several days, though SPPD and corporate security alike had been tracking IP addresses to find where he'd been updating his (now rather popular) conspiracy blog.

Unfortunately for investigators and his new plethora of fans, he was found dead in a cheap motel room.

The cause of death is yet unknown, but police have said that they believe foul play is involved, due to the highly reckless decision to out some very important information that pertains to highly trained killers. The news reporter makes a very clear point (completely shattering the idea of not being biased) that they seem to think that this was an idiotic idea, as he basically made himself a target for every hunter in the city, and that there is little to no chance of finding the killer, as it could even be the police who put the hit out, for all the public knows.

(Later, the writer will come to regret saying this, as though is it said with complete sarcasm, it's picked up by blogs and commentaries as if completely serious and several people take it as fact. Oops.)

However many people don't share the reporter's opinion, and within hours a tribute blog, a vigil/rally, and a lot of paranoia has already been mustered up.

Later in the day, some of St. Matthew’s known associates speak about the controversy at Mugshots, a popular Sector 3 dive bar known for negotiating deals between cops and free bounty-hunting agents. Speaking for the city’s infamous middleman, they assured press that she did not put bounty out on Wheeler, but the public is skeptical.

Those who were already against the bounty hunting industry, along with non-profit vigilantism, seem to be adding fuel to the fire within the space of the few short hours since Wheeler's death. Editorial blogs and letters to the governor are pouring in, calling for greater transparency and the truth about the city’s fugitive recovery system and the secret lives of mercenaries for hire. Where do they cross the line, and to what extent are they potentially operating as contracted killers?

- Several of the Poppy donation boxes that have been set up around various venues and churches throughout the port have been stolen, police say. The boxes were to collect donations that would be given to veterans on November 11th, Remembrance Day. Officials say that it's nothing new to find poppy donation boxes having been stolen, but this year it appears that the number of thefts has increased. Any witnesses to thefts are encouraged to provide details and anyone with information is encouraged to step forward.
