- Today, public defenders for Bronson Hardy announced the publication of a confession letter written by their client. Hardy was arrested last week and along with partner Gregory Chalker charged with an attack on city prosecutor Diego Armando. Both men were stacked with assault, attempted kidnapping and multiple weapons charges.

Rumors began to surface that the attack on Armando was motivated in some part by the prosecutor's current case against AGI, though Hardy's letter aims to quash those theories. In the letter, Hardy denies any connection with AGI and furthermore, details how he came to be involved in the plot against the Newcomer lawyer. An out-of-work actor struggling to make ends meet, Hardy claims that Chalker offered him a large sum of money in exchange for assistance with the attack. Chalker, a multiple offender with drug and robbery convictions on his record, had previously been prosecuted by Armando and sought revenge for his latest stint in prison.

"It all went too far," Hardy writes, "I didn't know what Greg had planned for the prosecutor. I didn't know it was going to become violent. I thought we were just going to scare him a little, that's all."

The confession letter was received by the DA's office as an accompaniment to Hardy's guilty plea. In exchange for his confession along with providing testimony against Chalker, Hardy is expected to receive a lighter sentence, possibly getting off with only a few months of probation rather than the prison sentence normally called for by his charges.
