[A few seconds of fiddling with the NV - she's only using one hand - and then the feed comes on to show a wide and familiar smile. The picture is dipping up and down, as if the girl in question was skipping. She is; her braid, in the background, is steadily bobbing up and down. Every few moments, visible in the corners of the video, a bird swoops close to her before returning to the skies. This goes on a while before she begins speaking.
She's also dripping wet, though she takes no notice of the fact.]
Jeez. The Core really can't make up it's mind sometimes! I've never been gone this long, though. I wonder what happened while I wasn't here... Hey, you should all tell me what's been going on! I haven't talked to most of you in a long time, either. So it'll be good for both things! I just hope most of it was good stuff.
[She pauses.]
You know, people talk a lot about how bad the Core is. And it does do a lot of really horrible stuff! It takes people away from their friends and makes them stay here even if they don't like it, and it can pick times that aren't very good to take people from their homes. It's sad for most people. But sometimes, it picks really good times. And it helped me meet a lot of nice people, too! So maybe I'm a little glad, especially since I know I'll be able to go home sometime. I wouldn't be that sad if I got to stay a little longer.
[A beat.]
I guess that's all I wanted to say! Oh, and Gilbert and Alois and Fakir [(whom she doesn't know has gone home)] and everyone - I'm on my way home right now.
