[By this time of the evening, it will be all over the news-- the preliminary hearing for the AGI trial was postponed today, because the prosecutor didn't show up. More specifically, because the prosecutor was attacked and shot in a bold, broad-daylight assault right in front of the courthouse.
Diego's sitting in a hospital room at Skye, but for once, he's not hooked up to any machines. In fact, aside from his bloody shirt, undone tie, lack of a vest and the slightly more pristine appearance of his visor, he looks basically normal. He's even got a cup of coffee.]
The rumors are true. Well... not the ones that I was killed. And not the ones where I was carjacked, because I don't drive. [Siiiiip.] Also not the one where I was stripped naked and sold into slavery across the street from the courthouse. And not the one where I fought off sixteen armed thugs in a mad chase around the hallways of justice only to fall at the last second.
[He reaches up and gingerly presses a hand to his visor, then lowers it back down.]
So the true rumor is the one where I was attacked outside the courthouse and taken hostage by armed men. I suffered minor injuries, though they caused me to miss the hearing. Fortunately, the judge understood when I spoke to him on the phone from the ER, and the hearing will be postponed without any penalty to my case.
