- Yesterday evening before Sirens, two members of SERO's dock patrol were attacked by what other patrol guards are calling a mermaid. While making their final rounds before Sirens, there was a strange movement near the surface of the water close to one of the docks. With orders being 'shoot to kill on sight' for said guards, they carried out their orders, shooting into the water to hit their target.

"It wasn't doing anything specifically suspicious." One guard reported, "The sun was beginning to set and all we really saw was the tail more than anything. At first I thought it was a harbour porpoise or maybe some weird mutant shark. It wasn't doing anything, but we shot at it anyway - those were the orders - and it had been a rather slow day. Nothing's wrong with a little sport, right? Wrong. As soon as we shot at the creature it sprung up out of the water, hissing fiercely. It wasn't a porpoise. It was a god damn mermaid."

The mer-creature then went on to swim far off, to put distance between itself and the guards. When they ceased their fire, they thought it had fled, only for two of the guards to find themselves dragged off the dock harshly, lassoed around the neck by taught ropes fashioned out of kelp and seaweed. They were dragged under the water and drowned. All that has been recovered so far of the guards has been a pair of shoes from one of them, lost during the fray. Their bodies have not been recovered as of yet.

-Two hunters were found dead this morning at the edge of the Sector 7 woods. One of them was shot in the face, by the same caliber of bullet that was being used by his partner. The second man, Blaine Shelby, was found hanging by his neck from a tree. His cell phone was at his feet but no outgoing calls were made. Police so far believe that Blaine accidentally shot his partner then took his own life. The partner has yet to be positively IDed.
