[ There's something oddly familiar about all of this. Very oddly familiar. After all, most people don't just ask for a blue police box from the mid-twentieth century unless they're asking for him. And most people don't ask about the night sky either. But the problem is... who is this? How does he know them?

He switches on the video feed, momentarily ignoring his responsibilities as a Greeter.

Funny how he does that. ]

I misplaced mine. Or rather, I didn't misplace her, so much as she's not blue anymore. Sort of. It's complicated.

[That ... Was actually one of the responses she was looking for, if not exactly worded as such. But this is certainly not who she was looking for. Or ... Is it?]

Not blue anymore? I've never heard of a police box that wasn't blue. A very nice shade of blue, too.

The most beautiful blue in all of space and time. But not right now. She's here, but she's in a... human-y sort of form. Or rather her essence is in a human-y form but her body's... somewhere else.

[It's him alright. Even if it weren't glaringly obvious, he just had this ... air about him. But she didn't know this face, had never even heard of it. He'd always been older before, hadn't he? Never younger, never this young and--]

She's human? But that's impossible. She's--|

[Maybe he was from the future. But then this would be crossing a timestream from his past, wouldn't it? It's hopeful to know that he has a future, but then she'd still be with him, wouldn't she? That's what she came back for, after all.]

... Crossing timelines is a dangerous business, someone told me once. Think it might have been you, actually. Long time ago.

I know. She's been trapped for a couple of months now.

Now normally there might me universe-ending consequences to that. But the Core seems to have blocked those things out. [ Mostly.

He really didn't want to play guessing games. Especially when it could almost be anyone. ]

[The TARDIS, in a ... human form, was trapped here along with the rest of them. If that were in fact the case, the bubble of curiosity was something Rose thought might very well choke her. She had to see it for herself. The TARDIS, a human. How could anyone not be curious?

But then there's the issue of, well. This. The Doctor who wasn't her Doctor, who'd changed his face for reasons she really wasn't sure she wanted to know. He had to be a future version, and Ms. Tyler wasn't sure if that made her feel better or worse.]

This Core has been doing a lot of tampering... Even blocking out paradoxes? That's something.

[But if he says so, she'll trust his judgment. So she'll switch to video feed. If he really was a Doctor from the future... Surely he'd know who she was.]

[ and sure enough, as her face appears on the screen, his eyes widen. Oh how they widen. Because right there... right in front of him was... ]

Rose Tyler.

[ Oh how he had missed her.

But, that had been another life. One that was different. And, there was still some guilt there. Because he left her. He left her with a version of himself that could love her as he should have been able to. ]

Where- Which point are you at? [ though he could wager a very good guess. ]

[It's strange, seeing him with another face. She's not one hundred percent convinced it is him, at least, not yet. Maybe ninety percent. And there's an ache in her chest that she's doing rather well ignoring over the fact that he had changed. What had happened?

But he says her name and she can't help but smile. One of the first since she'd arrived, to be perfectly honest. He knows her, remembers her, was quite obviously a future version and oh that was difficult to think about.]

End of the universe- or just about. Not sure how things are turnin' out without me there, but it seems okay. We were on the Dalek Crucible? There was .. two've you. [Another fact she was only just beginning to wrap her ind around.]

Cruciform. I'm pretty sure it was Cruciform. [ he frowns a little. So she didn't know yet... ]

If you're wondering, everything turns out fine. Or at least "fine" in the sense the universe doesn't end. That time. The last time, the universe almost didn't exist.

It was me. Or rather, that other me. My hand. What do you think you'll call him? I always thought of him as being rather "handy", but, you know me.

[ He's being a little vague. After all, spoilers are still spoilers, paradox or no. ]

More of a crack in the universe caused by someone or something attempting to rip the time vortex out of the TARDIS.

Still not too clear on what exactly did that.

..Your hand. He's- You grew into another you? [This is slightly weird to think about. Were Time Lords like worms? Surely not! Then again... He had grown back his hand almost as soon as it was cut off.] I dunno.. Doctor.. two point oh?

I thought the time vortex was too dangerous for anyone to use? [She'd know. Sort of.] So even someone just attempting it started throwin' cracks in the universe?
