- Booze Barons on the Bench?
The Siren's Port prosecutor's office announced yesterday that it will seek criminal conspiracy charges against AGI after recent complaints regarding their enforcement of city liquor codes. City budgetary shortfalls pushed operation of the Liquor Control Board into AGI's hands and the charges allege that the laws have been unfairly enforced. Among the accusations leveled at AGI are reports of targeting neutral and SERO-affiliated businesses and exploiting loopholes in the codes for the benefit of AGI's own large bar and restaurant industry.

This is the second time in six months that AGI has been forced to defend itself against criminal charges. Over the summer, the company was accosted in court for cruel and illegal practices with regards to the slave industry. Notably, one of the prosecutors from that case, Newcomer Diego Armando, has attached his name to this accusation as well. Armando declined to comment on the charges, though cryptically offered that "the bitter tides of karma rise up to drown us all."

AGI did not have an official response prepared at press time, but a spokesperson for the company calls the charges "ludicrous."

-Mischief Makers Mauled by Masked Neighborhood Watchdogs
The article begins discussing an incident from yesterday evening. It seems several teens from one of the local schools (names asked not to be released, as they are minors) were attacked by masked vigilantes. The four teens decided to toilet paper the house of a classmate just after the sirens, using one of the boy's ability to teleport for safety. The mostly harmless prank went as planned until the four were attacked by two masked men.

The men attacked them, and they were tied up and left inside a storefront. None of the teens have debilitating injuries though one of them was taken to the hospital for a concussion.

The teens identified the attackers as wearing bright colors and face masks like a cartoon character. They only could identify one name 'The Masked Avenger', and the SPPD is looking for these attackers and would appreciate any help that could be offered.

The article then goes on to begin delving into the reporter's opinion on vigilante law, which seems to mostly amount to 'no, and hell no.' She cites sources and begins listing ones that went too far from previous decades and landed themselves in court. Vigilante laws have not been focused on in several years, as the SPPD has given the official word that they appreciate lawful citizens assisting in the capture of criminals, but the reporter does state that there are these laws in place, even if they are not actively dealt with at the moment, and that just because it isn't convenient to follow them, doesn't mean they shouldn't be followed.

She then goes on to talk about possibly ramifications; property damage, civilian casualties, untrained people attempting to replace professionals without the required knowledge. A lot of it is valid, both points and information. But, it's important to note that she never does actually list what any laws correlating to Vigilantism are, or where they might be found in the Siren's Port Code of Law.
