It's apparently pretty common! Though the original tradition was to use turnips instead of pumpkins... Which seems pretty weird to me. [ She'd rather eat the turnip itself. ]

La, I hath never seen such a task. Gourds wert kept for food in mine own time. We never dist have so many as to allow such festivity.

As busy as thee! I hath been at work, and amongst the people. Hath met many new faces as well.

Well, I think the idea is that you eat what's inside and use the rind for the decorations. [ She sounds a little unsure about that, though. ] It must seem weird to you, though.

It's always good to meet new people, isn't it? Have you met anyone who came from a time and place like your own yet?

La, I hath oft eaten the interior of gourds; they art delicious when stew'd properly. I didst not know that they art plentiful enough to be used in decoration, however.

La, 'tis! I hath briefly glimpsed a few, but none from the precise year or with the precise speech I posses.
