[Blaine looks more than a little exhausted. When he speaks he might be joking, or might not be. It's kind of a wry comment.]

Do you guys think with enough coffee I'll be able to skip sleeping all together?

[Private to Fred]

If you're still up for lunch how about tomorrow?

It wouldn't be advisable. [ She's such a hypocrite, although it's not her fault? ]

I suppose I should listen to a good doctor.

Welcome back, by the way. Are you okay?

Thank you. And I am.

As for the problem I would advise no change from your routine, as uncomfortable and unpleasant as it may be.

Well I do usually drink a lot of coffee...

[ Dear God, does no one drink tea? ] I would actually suggest drinking less - ingestion of caffeine doesn't help with troubling dreams.

It doesn't change the fact that there may still be things that we can do to aide ourselves. Have you been affected every night?

Dreams only occur if we achieve REM sleep. Perhaps sleeping without REM sleep may aide. It won't be pleasant but it may give you that peace.

Can you suppress it somehow?

longaevus October 23 2011, 20:02:24 UTC
I wouldn't advocate that but waking someone up as they reach REM sleep could be an option.

Isn't REM sleep the part that we actually need?

longaevus October 23 2011, 20:04:39 UTC
On long periods yes but for one night it is possible to manage without it, and is certainly better than forgoing sleep entirely.

Does that mean I really should try to set up an alarm?

Actually if you wouldn't mind I'd prefer if it were something a little more monitored. [ Just in case something did happen - which she was hopeful (and mostly certain) that it wouldn't, but with the nightmares happening? She had to be careful ]

I can do that.
