roar 003 - Video
[ Good afternoon, Siren's Port! And an especially good afternoon if you, like these guys, have a great reason to celebrate. The background of the video feed seems to be one of the table areas of Sector Zero near the bar, not lit as dramatically as usual in the middle of the day-- well, if you can tell from the shaking camera. It's almost as if the PDA is still strapped to Kotetsu's wrist when he started gesturing. ]
D'you think inviting some of the guys from the station down here'd be weird? I mean... Rock Bison and Fire Emblem and I sometimes go out for drinks, that's kind of the same thing when we're talkin' about coworkers, right?
But you’ve been working with them for years, Mr Tiger! I think that’s a bit different.
Hrrrmnnr, you got a point. Oh- but I have tea with Doc Saitou when he wants to yell at me for breakin' things, that's not a long-term thing! Don't you go out with Dragon Kid like that now and then?
[A pause, accompanied by what might be someone shifting uncomfortably.] I do, after training, sometimes. But not when she first joined! [Another pause] Although it would have been nice to get to know everyone better when I first joined.
See! It's just like that. [ chewing, chewing, swallowing a bite of burger. ] ...on second thoughts, it ain't like that. Huh. Rock Bison and I are the only long-time pals then... Fire Emblem started tagging along in the first place because he likes his ass. [ slurping his drink- ] That's a really bad analogy, uh, don't take that approach-- what I mean is, you don't need a good reason or nothing to hang out with coworkers! Just be like, "hey, tough work today, I could really use a beer, d'you know any good places?" and then you watch the game at the bar and you don't even need to talk!
But we haven't even started work yet! How will people know who we are?
Well, if we say, 'we're the guys who did the test the other day and PASSED, the blonde guy with the jacket and the guy with the cool beard, if you wanna share our plate of nachos it's too late but you ca-- ahh! [ suddenly, Kotetsu's briefly shocked face swings into view ] The video's on! Ori-- uh, Ivan!!
[And just visible in the corner is a shock of blonde hair and the edge of a purple jacket. There's a stutter of embarrassment and concern, before Ivan leans in to see properly.] How did you-- never mind. We'd better invite people now. [And hope they haven't been paying too much attention to the names they were using.]
I poked it and forgot! Jeez-- [ sorry, Port, you get a lovely upshot of Kotetsu's face as he corrects the camera angle whilst wiping a smear of mayo off his mouth. Multitasking like a pro. Then he grins. ] Yo! Sorry 'bout that introduction-- we're the newest additions to the Newcomer police force. Look forward to workin' with ya! I'm Kotetsu T. Kaburagi, this guy here is-- [ tilting the PDA to get a better view of Ivan, who frowns faintly and sets down his chopsticks. He glances at Kotetsu, and then back at the PDA.]

So that's us. Stay out of trouble and you won't have to face us, hahahahaaa-! [ that... laugh goes on for a bit too long. Ivan eyes Kotetsu when he realises the laugh is dragging on, then nudges him and leans in to whisper] You should invite people if you're going to.
--Eh- ahh, that's right! Yeah! The two of us are in Sector Zero gettin' lunch right now to celebrate, but if any of you guys in the police department wanna come get drinks before dark-- [ turns the PDA briefly to scan around where they're sitting, just for reference ] --feel free! Let me buy you a drink! ...That's for the Corporal and the guys who helped Ivan calm down before the test. [Kotetsu didn't have to mention that! Ivan blushes faintly.]
And anyone who helped Kotetsu to study. [ ... ] That too! And, uhh, any other guys we know-- [ he's about to start mentioning names that Wild Tiger knows, not Kotetsu Kaburagi, and stops himself with a thoughtful pause before resuming - ] --come on down! We'll be here til before sirens. See you!
