[The feed is from the inside of Marluxia's room, on his bed. Right in the center of it, a young cat has taken residence. Not yet grown, but not a kitten either. A black-and-white Tuxedo cat, she looks up at the camera, then flops onto the sheets, having clearly decided this is its new home

It's certainly kind of you to give the poor creature a home. She really looks quite endearing. Have you given her a name yet?

[The kitty is now grooming her face, wiping a little white paw over her ear.]

I had not given it any thought. She only just followed me home. I should probably give her a bath as well...

Oh, in that case, I will have to wish you good luck. I hear that cats tend to dislike the water.

[The cat continues to lazily groom itself, seeming quite content with the center of the bedspread.]

They do not. The trick is to fill up the bathtub before bringing them in, laying down towels, and having band-aids with disinfectant ready and open.

[She can't help but smile upon seeing that. After all, she had meant it when she called the little cat 'endearing'. Of course, given her next words, it might have sounded a little offsetting.]

My, it sounds like it will be a rather trying effort for you. I would offer my help, but I can't say that I have much experience with cats.

[Marluxia's hand reaches out to pet the cat from off-screen. Watching the hand intruding on her bathing time, she reaches out with a paw to bat at it,and when that didn't deter him, give him a little love nip, to which he was immune through his gloves.]

Fortunately, cats do not need bathing often. So long as she is good, she will not have to suffer the indignity for terribly long.

[The kitty is going to town on that gloved hand, obviously playing instead of attacking.]

It nearly sounds like you're used to dealing with pets. [She chuckles, more amused with the cat's antics than anything else.] Have you ever had one before?

[Marluxia manages to disentangle his hand and finally get it on top of the cat's head to stroke behind her ears.]

My partner had two kittens. He took care of them mostly, but I picked up on a detail of their care or two.

Oh, and it seems like you'll be putting it to good use here. I'm sure that was unexpected.

[She pauses, briefly, as an idea springs to mind. However, she dismisses it soon after. It was too soon to say anything about it.]

Are you planning on taking her to veterinarian some time? [If she wasn't mistaken, adopting cats from the streets meant certain precautions were necessary.]

Hm? I had not given it much thought, but I suppose I should. We did not have that option in the last world I lived in. The closest thing we had to a veterinarian was a heart surgeon.

[The camera gets closer to the kitty, who bats at the hook on the cell phone charm part.]

I doubt she has even been spayed.

[Warmth infuses her tone with another clear smile, as she continues to watch the little cat.]

I'm certain that you will find that this world has a lot more to offer you than your previous one. It is, after all, capable of functioning as its own society. While it doesn't make our circumstances any less unfortunate, it is still quite fascinating.

On that note, I would suggest borrowing your partner's cat food, if he'll allow it. Otherwise, keeping a cat and providing for it might prove a little more than you bargained for.

My partner did not make the transition with me. I will have to purchase true food for the cat in the morning....

[The cat yawns, tiring of the hook.]

You might also want to purchase a scratching post for her. [Amusement gently curves her voice.] It would be a shame if she decided to wear her claws on any of your furniture.

Speaking of which, are you still living in the Tower Apartments?

Hmm, that is a good point, I should.

[te kitty closes her eyes, rolling around to get comfy.]

No, I live in Sector 4 now.

Oh, I see. I imagine that your new pet should find your abode over the apartments much more to its liking.

[That was, if its actions now were any indication.]

I am certain she would be fine, provided that I feed her.
