Morning sirens go off at 7:25 am, and evening sirens are at 6:35 pm.
IMPORTANT OOC REMINDER: Evening Sirens will NOT go off at 6:35pm, and consequently there will be no warning that the creeping Darkness is falling or that Darkness has begun and the monsters are loose. There will be a temporary Electromagnetic Pulse Effect in place for ten minutes.
- At 6:35 pm, all lights in the city will turn off.
- Car and burglar alarms, motion sensitive systems, will be instantly triggered.
- All NVs (and telephones) will cease functioning. Even if they are shielded from EMPs, the networks running them will be temporary down for 10 minutes.
- Clocks and watches, unless run on clockwork rather than batteries, will also stop running, meaning that it's impossible to tell if the ten minutes of creeping Darkness is up.
- The train system will stall, and remain in emergency stop mode till power resumes.
Buildings that have backup generators will be able to run again after ten seconds of the EMP going off. All other functionality will return in TEN MINUTES, when the Darkness has fallen.
Radical Development in Sector 10!
Report is by a small name reporter - Chartresse Johanason, with a rep for doing hard up "personal interest" stories - typically with a bent implying they would be better off in AGI's care than where they are currently.
This reporter, worrying for the safety of those unfortunates in Sector 10 after hearing about the flooding in their home-made Darkness shelter and increased violence among the Darkness last night, centred at a block only three streets over from the entrance of the semi-Darkness proofed cave, braved the Sector 10 slums - with escort of course, provided by Jackson's Security Services* - to investigate. Thanks to generously donated by Marvin's Market** on Star Ave which donated energy bars and bottle water we were able to hand out something of substance to the lost souls of Sector 10 - their thin faces and haunted eyes tell of the hardship of living there, children born under the worst circumstances, and with some those previously removed from AGI care to fend for themselves alone without skill or ability to survive on their own by well meaning but misinformed citizens you have to wonder if the recent lawsuit against AGI will help or harm them. Due to the donations some were willing to talk and I was able to piece together that roughly fifteen minutes before Sirens sounds sounded on the night of the fifth, a man clad in scarlet and royal purple flew in from the direction of Sector 11, accompanied by a figure in black and silver.
The first man was wearing a helmet which blocked the view of his face, though pinkish glowing could be seen where his eyes would have been, and while the second figure appeared human, the witnesses were unable to tell if it was human or robotic in nature. A long standing, mostly decayed building was surrounded by a 'freakish blue-white light' according to one brave lad, whose impenetrable skin allows him to be one of the last ones in, and fell. For almost three hours after, the people inside the cave could hear metal clinking on metal, and the Darkness being violent and aggressive outside - so much so some feared their makeshift shelter would be breached. Once the metal sounding stopped there were still the howls, screeches, and other noise of Darkness outside.
One old man, suffering on the cold, rocky cave floor, and speaking fondly of his childhood in AGI's care and reminiscing about the soft pallets and warm blankets he had slept on in his youth, said the Darkness sounded outraged, and he was worried for those unable to make it to the safety of the shelter - and the fools attracting it's attention outside, so close to the only safety Sector 10 has.
After Sirens sounded this morning, several dozen of this forgotten citizenry wandered over to find the old structure gone, rotted debris on the ground but nearby, a four story building had been Darkness proofed - very heavily - and the inside cleaned and cleared. Each floor contained two shower stalls and four toilet stalls, although no running water, and no electricity, and the walls lined with triple bunks made of hard metal built into the walls and barracks style triple bunks covering each floor. The bunks on the floors were mostly bare, although a few had cardboard over them with few worn blankets to function as a pallet, and appeared flimsy but when one of my escorts - Jarvis, who can bench-press a city bus - attempted to bent the metal, it didn't respond at all. Over all, it appeared extremely industrial and Spartan although functional, mostly.
There was a note left, which told the people of Sector 10 that this was a new shelter for them, and electricity would be following soon, along with running water, and more shower and toilet facilities.
Most where marveled at the sudden appearance of two unknown figures and the sudden rise of a Darkness proofed building - some angrily questioning why it hadn't been done before now, others suspicious as to what it meant, and what the people responsible wanted. This reporter at least would love to know more about the figures in this video.
[Attached is crappy, cheap NV video footage, showing Magneto, clad in ridiculously bright red and purple armour, a bright blue-white glow around him, metal from a pile of rubble also surrounded in blue light, flinging into it's self, armouring the building while he sparks and lightening like strikes beat back the monsters while Magneto is flying about five stories up. Iron Man, in black and silver armour is also fighting off monsters, while flying in the air. There's no audio.]
