[ But do you believe in Unicorns? Cuz there's one talking to you right now. ]

There are things other than Gods that exist in this place, you will find. Yet I am afraid it is not such a being that is responsible for your place here.

[My, what a lovely creature. Muraki pauses for a moment and looks at her, in vague admiration and surprise that he can see such a thing. Didn't unicorns have a thing for virgins?]

It is the same in my world. There are magical creatures such as yourself, and demigods--they are not hard not to believe in, because I've seen them with my own eyes.

...I take it the Core took you from somewhere else?

[ Most do, yes. She's a special case. ]

Yet you do not believe in the existence of a God, because you have not seen this being?

[ A bit more interest in her voice at this. Because so many she has talked to say there were no Unicorns where they were from. ]

Indeed - it has stolen me from my home, my forest. There are others of my kind in your world?

...Among other things. [He could go on about his hatred towards God and--if he exists--the existence that God breathed into him. But he wasn't going to wax spirituality with a mythical horse.]

You are the first unicorn I've seen, but I assume there could be others. I merely assumed you're from somewhere else: a creature as elegant as yourself doesn't belong in such a place.

[ She... probably wouldn't understand anyway. ]

There are no others of my kind in this place. I have seen a satyr or two, and there are those pulled into this place like myself who are also of a magical background.

It is regrettable, but an escape has yet to be found.

That doesn't surprise me: the circumstances were similar in the last world that I was in.

[There is a sigh in his voice, but he is far from resigned to his fate. He had as much intention to find a way out of the Port as he did in Luceti.]

How long were you in this other world, you speak of?

It would've been five months. And you, my dear?

The moon has waxed and waned more than twelve times for me.

[ A little over a year. Much to her surprise - has it really been that long? She barely noticed the passage of time. ]

[Even Muraki looks a little bit surprised.]

I'm sorry, that is quite a long time.

Yes ... I have been from my home for too long. I worry what has become of it in my absence.

If it's the same here as it was in Luceti, time has stopped in your world. So when you return, it'll be like you never left. Then I am certain that it's safe.

I wish to believe this is true. It would ease the concern I feel for those I guard.

What was this ...Luceti like?
