[Which has him stepping out from the kitchen, drying his hands on a towel before he tosses it over his shoulder and glances around until his gaze lands on the young lady at the counter.

He offers her a polite smile and a nod.]

Can I help you, miss?

Ah! Pleasure to meet you, Miss Silverburgh. You can just call me Fai, since the rest is just too long.

[His lips twitch slightly, because her manner almost reminds him of Kurogane, but he manages to keep the hint of mirth in. Instead he nods and waves to the dining area.]

Now, please have a seat and I'll bring us some drinks as we go over the application - if you'll tell me what you'd prefer?

[He followed a moment later with a small tray carrying a carafe of coffee, cream and sugar, as well as two glasses, and a small plate of finger sandwiches which were set on the table. He poured them both a cup, then slouched back in his seat and propped his chin on a hand as he reached the other for the application.

As he began to glance over it, he started easily enough.]

Sorry, but it's exhausting to be formal all the time, so don't worry about it, okay? Now! Tell me of your time in the Port so far. Been here long?

That's reassuring to hear - I've seen and heard of some not-so-great introductions to the Port, honestly.

[Just by looking over her application, he couldn't help but think she was more suited to work in Kurogane's dojo than a restaurant, but then... everyone deserved a chance for change, right?

Such a hypocritical thought, coming from him, that he nearly laughed. As it was, all he did was blink then set the application aside to smile at her once again.]

So from what I gather, this is your first attempt at waiting in a bistro, right? Would you be more comfortable starting out as a barista and cashier or working the floor, do you think?

Nono, I mean... do you think you'd be more comfortable waiting on the tables or being both the cashier and barista. The one who makes all the coffee specialty drinks. I need to fill both, so best to see which you'd prefer, honestly.
