Jack. Not Scotty. And I'm guessin' you've figured out you ain't where you're supposed to be.

Considering you're lacking the heavy Scottish accent, I think you'd have a harder time trying to convince me you were Scotty. And trust me, it wasn't hard to figure out that where I was supposed to be and where I ended up weren't one and the same.

Yeah, good job. So somebody tell you yet, or you want all the stupid details?

Right. The year is 2011, we're in Canada, no, you ain't dreamin', no, you can't go home, we're stuck on an island, there've been people bein' brought here for about a year now, we're all from different worlds and time periods, we're called Newcomers, and yeah, you need to get a job.

What, no rundown on the local nightlife? [His voice manages to remain somewhat playful despite the circumstances.] Needing a job's pretty much on par with hearing about monsters roaming around at night.

Yeah, we got a black market, but these monsters are a bitch to kill. So you might wanna consider an easier job before that. What'd you do before?

[Honestly, Kirk having his phaser is quite a relief to him; he's pretty sure he'll be fine after dark if he keeps on his toes with it at the ready. That doesn't mean he's going to go bragging about it though. The Prime Directive probably doesn't apply to an alternate dimension where universes and timeframes clash, but that doesn't mean he feels the need to talk about his weaponry. No Prime Directive means he gets to chat about spacetravel, though.]

Captain of a starship. Though to be perfectly honest, I didn't quite get much of that under my belt before finding myself here.

Right, well, we don't have any starships-- any ships, actually, seein' as how we can't leave and all. Anythin' else you can do?

Shame, the people here are missing out. [He lets out a quiet, thoughtful hum.] Considering I'm not exactly in-the-know about civilian life from this time, I'm not too sure what all I'm qualified for. According to my instructors I've got this natural knack for tactical analysis, though I'm doubting that's real high in demand.

[He shrugs, even though he's in voice mode.] But what the hell, I'm a fast learner. What're some of the more interesting openings around here?
