[Oh. When Dean appears on the accidental video, Castiel is transfixed, surprised; he hadn't known the hunter was here. How long had he been? Did he know Sam was here too? Surely he did; Mary would have been the link even if the boys hadn't found each other.

And a flash of irritation; no one bothered to inform him? Not Mary's fault, but Sam could've sent him a message. As if he needs any more reason to be angry with the younger Winchester. But that can wait.]

[Dean actually knew that Cas was in town and figured the angel would just show up in his apartment when he felt like it. That's what he's done since Dean's known him, which isn't long. And that just gets him to wondering why Cas was talking to him with an NV.]

[Of all people, Castiel is most in tune with Dean, and so he's slightly less oblivious when it comes to figuring out things he says or does. So at the comment, and the question about 'since when do angels need phones', he's worried. He hasn't forgotten about the time differences.]

[There were still things about the future that he was missing and that he wanted to know, felt that he had a right to know. But Sam had been dodgy and he still plans on trying to get answers from his brother, and if he can get answers from another source, that's fine. Cas has usually been direct with him... except in the most recent trip he sent him on to the past.]

Yeah. Those seals, they just like to keep breaking on our watch, don't they? Or did, since that's the past for you, right? [Cas saying he's still protecting the seals as though they no longer need protecting where he's from means something that's either very good or very bad. Dean has a feeling it's bad considering Cas can't fly and Sam was so evasive. His expression and tone says he's fishing for info to confirm what he thinks.]

[It was an answer to all comments, and though Castiel does intend to be more or less straightforward with Dean, he's also not certain what Sam's told him yet. So he doesn't really know where to start, not to mention laying it all out over the NVs seems both difficult and unsafe.]
