[ Video ] :| Oh LJ, stop messing with me like this.

[ His body convulsed, tensing as though it would spare him the pain of erupting flames, tearing his body apart from the inside out. A pain that never came. Instead his body was battered and bruised, compressed, tightened. But for the pain of being thrown about like a rag-doll, he felt something else. He knew what it felt like to have torn muscles ( Read more... )

[If Luxord is at all surprised - and to some extent, he is - to see Vexen's state, he very carefully makes sure none of it shows on his face. He knows Vexen's pride, and he knows quite well that death is hardly comfortable. Still, it's nice to know that so few things change, even in this.]

I'd imagine they're only trying to assist as best they know.

[ More Organization Members. But of all the ungrateful neophytes, Luxord was the only one he tolerated to any degree. But at least it was easier to see Ten given the size of the screen.

He only glanced down quickly with a tired, but still critical sneer before focusing his gaze to the horizon while he took quick and deep breaths, trying to get his bearings and make some kind of progress towards finding the Castle. Or..at least figure out where he was. He needed to lie down, he fully understood his body was in shock and still in such pain. ] If I required their assistance, I would ask for it, Ten.

I don't need strange imbeciles putting their hands all over me, of whom haven't the slightest idea of how to tend to the needs of people such as ourselves. [ So snappy, but it still sounded empty and weak compared to his usual retorts. ]

[Luxord offers a brief nod, even if he's not at all sure that Vexen's even looking. Better safe, with him in a mood like this.]

Of course. But they can hardly be expected to know that, much less the demands and requirements of existences such as ours. Still... if they will be so insistent to find aid perhaps a suitable conclusion can be found?

[Which is about as close to offering his help as he'll get. Too blunt and he knows Vexen's pride won't allow him to accept, even should it be clear it might be useful.]

[ This is why Vexen tolerates Ten, because like Zexion, he's aware of how to talk to him without poking too much at his already fragile, but firey ego. Vexen was guaranteed to snap at anything that moved and hadn't the patience to try calming him at all, but he wasn't quite so keen on trying to verbally bite Ten's head off. ]

Don't be coy with me, Ten. I'm perfectly capable of tending myself once I return to the Castle!

My apologies.

[But still, he had to offer at least. Politeness all but demanded it, after all.]

As for the Castle, I'm afraid it's not present here. We've had to arrange matters appropriately.

[ The offer was noticed, but there was very little reasoning with Vexen in times such as these. Thankfully, they were rare since one could only die once. ]

Is that so? And what's preventing either of us from simply utilizing a corridor as per normal procedure?

The corridors themselves remain accessible. It's merely that they will no longer take us past this world. I'd not advise testing the matter either.

That's ridiculous, impossible! No mere world has any control over our movements! [ Incredulous!

Though, he needed to get out of here quickly. Standing was becoming increasingly difficult and he couldn't even summon a portal where he was standing. Walking elsewhere to safety would be a horrendous challenge.. ]

[Fortunately for both their sakes, Luxord's not about to offer the insult of commenting on Vexen's obviously worsening state. He is, however, considering the benefits and risks of showing up unannounced.]

Impossible and yet it seems very much the case. Perhaps if it were considered akin to that world with the disappearing cat?

[ A very wise decision, because it actually getting to mere neutral ground with Vexen was an Olympian feat. Getting him to loathe your existence, however, was horrifically easy. ]

Wonderland? [ Odd he should make that reference, but it put things in perspective. ] Based on the reports from members sent to that world, this one is far to apocalyptic to resemble something as insane and whimsical as that accumulation of useless rubbish. [ He was not inserting pauses to breathe, no. He was inserting them here and there for effect while thinking. Yes. ]

As I well recall.

[Even when he was assisting Roxas, there was no denying that the world was exceedingly odd - not to mention more than a little brightly colored.]

And yet, the rules of the game seem to bear more than a passing resemblance to something born of that world.

[ Just a little brightly colored. Not like the mere description of it made Vexen pray to whatever merciful deity that he wasn't sent to that forsaken world. ]

I'll have to investigate the laws of man and nature that govern this world before being able to make an appropriate judgment. Regardless, I've the location of our base and will be departing shortly.

Contact me at a later date if you have anything of importance to report.
