[ His body convulsed, tensing as though it would spare him the pain of erupting flames, tearing his body apart from the inside out. A pain that never came. Instead his body was battered and bruised, compressed, tightened. But for the pain of being thrown about like a rag-doll, he felt something else. He knew what it felt like to have torn muscles

Makin' friends with the Greeters, Popsicle?
Or would you like a pick-up?

Xigbar. He'd know that voice anywhere. So, this tablet really was his, and apparently, it was nice enough to turn itself on and transmit a feed. Thanks fates, Vexen really just loves it when you spit on him like this.
Regardless, with a growl, he just spoke back to the tablet, his voice a little distant since he was still standing. ] I'm perfectly capable of taking care of such myself, Two! I simply need to return to the castle.

Too bad the castle's inaccessible now, isn't it?

Then where is the Organization currently stationed? [ Frustrating. This made his task that much harder, most likely, which caused him to continue snapping at Xigbar in quite the defensive manner. He loathed being seen like this. ]

Right here, Popsicle.
You wanna see?
Reply
No, nor do I care to listen to your riddles. Simply give me the coordinates. [ His urge to kill motherfucking puppies is growing. ]

Now, Four.
You don't really want to see the Superior like that, do you?

... [ His jaws clenched when he heard that name and his breathing hitched for a moment. Luckily, mister white winter here was capable enough of at least getting it back on a rhythm. Even if he was slowly hyperventilating because of it. ] ....Fine.
Be quick. [ Could you hear the contempt in his voice? Because he was radiating with it. He secretly knew he'd have to be taken care of by someone else given the state he was in, but..he was too stubborn to admit it. At least until Xigbar here backed him into a corner with mentioning the Superior like that. To be seen in such a state would have terrible results.. ]

Roger that!

Evening, Popsicle.
Let's get you up, shall we?

One being that he's pale. Much paler than usual, and there's this greyish color to his skin because he's clammy and has a cold sweat going on. The next thing would be that he's trying not to hyperventilate, but it's not going so well, so he looks even worse up close.
Xigbar would also notice that while Vexen isn't clutching his chest anymore and is trying to stand upright, he isn't doing so good of a job at it. He's still hunching and his legs still look like they might give out soon. But hey! Vexen's a fighter. Clearly, though, walking for him was just out since all he could manage to do was stand...sort of. Hell, standing back up after picking his tablet and it's accessories up was a challenge unto itself.
There was also the aforementioned tear and scar, but they need not be covered in detail. ]
I said be quick, Two. Not pretentious. [ Why didn't Xigbar just portal directly to him? His life is difficult enough. ]

But now, to business -- ]
What can I say? The Voids bring it out in me.
[ Or block things off, however you want to phrase it. ]
You up to a little walking?

Also Vexen will never give up the details behind these injuries. Unlike caving and accepting his help to get out of this forsaken place, that secret, he would take to the grave unless the Superior demanded it. It was just too shameful. ]
Stop speaking nonsense and go. [ No, not really, but he was going to walk anyway. ]

Off we go, then!
[ And so he goes, walking a little ways ahead of you, Vexen. Effectively waving the Greeters and other staff away, he keeps his pace slow. If Vexen ends up needing help, he'll give it.
It won't be until they're out of the immediate vicinity of the baseball diamond that he stretches his arms out and stops. ]
Much better.
[ And sure enough, a portal swirls up before them. ]
After you.

Your enthusiasm is inspiring. [ He sounded just so excited. B| So effective was Xigbar's enthusiasm, that Vexen started trudging along behind him. Progress was slow, but it was either slow and steady, or fall on his face and lie there. He's determined he's going to do this on his own, trying to focus on the edge of the baseball diamond to help steady himself, keep his head up, and trying to focus on the fixed spot. Low blood pressure following shock tends to leave one rather dizzy.
It didn't help much, but he made it to the portal, grunting as he passed Xigbar at his own pace to enter the portal. He to hold his head up with pride, but he just wanted to lie down and get warm and raise his blood pressure and rest. ] You're too kind. [ Mutters bitterly under ( ... )
