[After her
interesting welcome to the city, Mary stumbles into what's apparently her new apartment at three fifteen in the morning, tired and bleeding, walking in slowly to look around at the tiny, run-down space. It takes her approximately two minutes to collapse to her knees by the couch, lean her elbows on it, and fold her hands in prayer.]
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgi- oh god- [She chokes on a hitching sob and buries her face in her folded hands, face screwed up in trying not to cry.] -oh God I'm so scared, please help me. I don't know if this is- is punishment for what I did, or if You saved me from that demon, but- my baby, please. Let Sam be okay. [She's getting more desperate, talking too fast and wiping tears from her eyes. Pretending the trauma and horror aren't catching up with her. An image flashes into her mind, vivid and horrible: Dean, burning up with blood pouring down his jammies. John trying to throw himself at the demon even as his skin bubbles. Sam, screaming in his crib while the monster sears him alive, the smell of burnt- she almost throws up.] Please, God, I just want to see my baby again. Let them be okay, please, God. I know I brought the demon on myself but my boys... I never had any idea, I never wanted this, please, God, just let me see them again.
[She dissolves into tears and cries into the couch for the better part of twenty minutes, trying so hard not to think about the very vivid pain still pressing against her memory or the sight of John's horror-stricken face before her vision blacked out completely, leaving her alone with the smell. After she's cried as much as she can, Mary picks herself up, dries her face, and goes to the kitchen for a glass of water-
-Only to jump back so fast she almost trips over her own feet. Holy god, what on Earth is wrong with the water?! Mary shuts the faucet off and, after mercifully finding a half-empty jug of apple juice in the fridge, goes to drink off her headache and poke at the weird Star Trek-looking thing she found on her.]

[When she finally does post her eyes don't look red in the low light, but she does look completely exhausted. She's in a white dress belted at the waist, and a knit jacket-type thing. It almost looks like an outfit- until you look again and see that the dress is a nightgown, and she looks uncomfortable in the jacket.]
So... I guess I'm in another world, or something. Interdimensional Canada? [She laughs shakily, before knocking back some more apple juice.] No offense, but it kind of sounds like a bad Star Trek special.
I can't believe I'm in a strange city in my nightgown. That's unbelievable. [Another nervous laugh, and she starts running her fingers through her hair, trying to get a tangle out.] I can't believe I just fought off a bunch of monsters in a strange city in my nightgown. I don't even know what those are, they weren't even in Dad's books.
[She shakes her head.]
The guy who found me outside told me a little about what's going on here. But if someone can please help me, I would really appreciate it.
[She reaches for the NV, then pauses.] My name is Mary. It's not exactly nice to meet you, but I guess you know what I mean.
[Fin.]
