[Jason's really not feeling super great but food is still a necessary thing, even for him. He's got his hood pulled up, ballcap on, and hands stuffed in his pockets as he walks past the fruit counter as Kevin makes his announcement. Percy Jackson? Wasn't that a kid? Okay, interest is piqued. Casually, he moves over toward the apples and reaches for one.]

[Kevin was reaching for apples, but immediately pulls back when the other guy reaches for one.]

Percy Jackson, he's a newcomer.

[Newcomer. Kid. That could be just enough to get someone killed and if he's been missing long enough then there's a significantly higher chance that he is, indeed, dead. Jason grabs a couple of the apples and deposits them in his basket, even though he really has no plan to pay for them. It's just busywork, distractions.]

Maybe he's got a girlfriend.
