Felton Producer, Found in Actor’s Flats Sander Cohen (46), the eccentric newcomer artist, was found dead in his room last evening, wearing a rabbit mask, covered head to toe in plaster. It is suspected that this death is some kind of elaborately orchestrated, aesthetic suicide.
Cohen was known for bringing a diverse and avant garde season to the Felton Stage over the past year, including a cavorting run with the criminal Joker’s deadly one man show Last Laugh. He had recently been commissioned to paint an urban mural in Sector 9, and was a first prize winner of last summer’s amateur film festival.
Riku, current manager of the Felton Theatre, commented: “I’m really sorry that he’s gone. He was an amazing artist, and I’d hate to think he did this just for the sake of his work.” Many performers at the Felton refuse to believe “the old fruit” has truly bowed out, and suspect that like other newcomers who have come back to life, he is planning to return in a dramatic revival. In the meantime, the show goes on, with a new company production by a local playwright opening this week.
