[Hearts that aren't quite a rabbit's any longer. That makes her worried. She's gone to look for him now, but she wants to at least speak with him and make sure he's all right. If he was hurt and she had missed it--]

Rabbit, are you all right? Is something wrong?

[ he brightens upon seeing her, but at the question, he blushes, pulling the kerchief off his ears and twisting it slightly between his hands. ]

Um. I just had a bad scare is all, Alice. But I suppose I may as well have it checked out just in case.

[Oh no. She starts to look worried.]

...Doctor Seward is a good man, Rabbit. He can help you, I think. [But that doesn't excuse her worry.] Where are you?

Oh, Alice, please don't look like that.. I'll be fine, I promise. I've managed this long with it, after all, haven't I?

[ still, he obediently moves the nv to show that he's in the rabbit room. ]

.. The other rabbits are still a little jumpy.

I know you can take care of yourself, but you're still my friend.

[A friend she's lost before, no less. She won't have that happen again.

She casts her gaze to the others, smiling faintly.]

...They do seem a tad agitated. Poor things.

[ he gives her a flustered glance at the comment-- 'friend'. yes, he supposes they are friends, though he's never exactly defined his attachment to alice that way before. he was simply... her white rabbit.

he follows her gaze to the rabbits, though, sighing softly. ]

I think they should be fine, though. They're pretty simple. Real World rabbits usually are, I think.

[Maybe she said too much? The denizens of Wonderland are her friends, though. They are hers. The Queen is the only exception.]

Perhaps so. But you are not a Real World rabbit and, therefore, not simple.

I'm certainly not. I'm quite a complicated rabbit, really. [ a pause, glancing at her again. ] .. Which isn't necessarily a good thing, always.

[ he turns back to look at the rabbits again, lifting his free hand to tug at the end of one of his ears absently. ]

.. Well, they like being held and coddled, so that might help. They're quite spoiled.

Believe me, I know.

[No one in Wonderland wasn't complicated, and in his world... Well, things were even stranger. And so it was harder for her to discern how to help him. But she looks past him to the other rabbits.]

And you've been doing just that, I assume?

[She should do the same for him.]

[ he offers a little shrug. ]

Mostly I've been very practical with them. I'm not a very cuddly sort of person, so I had Finny hold them. He seems to like them quite a lot.

They listen to you, don't they? Or are they too silly to do so?

[She's not used to real rabbits.]

Well.. they do their best, I think. [ he glances back to the nv again, smiling. ] You might like them, though of course they're not much like Hare or I.

No one can be like you two, though I'm certain they'll try to impress me.
