Faceless Killer Caught!
Last Saturday evening, nearly two months after breaking out of St. Teresa's Sanitarium, Frankie Nichols was finally brought back to the asylum-- alive. Dubbed the Faceless Killer for using his shapeshifting abilities to take on the identity of his victims, Frankie was considered a highly dangerous criminal. Since his escape, several bounty hunters have claimed to have captured Frankie, but this is first the SPPD have confirmed to be the notorious serial killer. The SPPD is now working to determine the identities of Frankie's recent victims to determine the crimes he is to be charged with, though Frankie's fitness to stand trial remains to be seen.

Regarding his current condition, Frankie's doctors have expressed cautious optimism. "It is impossible to say what exactly happened to Frankie out there," Dr. Blake Thurston told reporters, "But the experience appears to have stabilized his psyche. Of course, the prosecution will have a devil of a time proving that the murders he committed during his escape were committed with a sane mind, but... he's quite lucid now, yes, more than we've ever seen him. It's really quite remarkable..."

What’s more remarkable was Frankie's official statement that he wishes to adopt a new name and a new identity. He says that he has not yet decided on a name, but thinks "Robert" sounds like a possibility. "I might not ever remember who I was, but that girl was right: it doesn't matter who I used to be if I can't even get a grip on who I am now. I might as well start be deciding what I want to call myself."

"That girl" appears to refer to the Newcomer Yako Katsuragi, a member of the team of bounty hunters who brought Frankie in. Another Newcomer, claiming to be an eyewitness to the capture, stepped forward with the following account:

"It was an impressive spectacle! Such dangerous criminals require the most skilled of detectives. It was a team effort, but Miss Yako's wit and past experience with such nefarious characters surely saved the day once again! We are all a little bit safer thanks to her work!"

Ms. Katsuragi's companions were also identified as Newcomers by the officers who registered Frankie's re-admittance, but their names have not been released. Ms. Katsuragi declined to be interviewed about her part in the capture, but has added that she's glad Frankie seems to be doing well. She gave full credit for the capture to her companions, insisting that her contribution to the operation was minimal.

- Coincidental Accident or Newcomer Conspiracy?
Film footage from last night caught a person in an orange hat, seemingly wounded and bloody and fighting off rotgut kittens, headed right for The Eberhardt Building for Synergetic Research. This same building just two days ago received a bomb threat from an anonymous caller.

The footage shows the man, now identified as the newcomer simply known as Ace, running towards the building, fighting a small horde of rotgut kittens and using a pyromancy technique. The figure goes off screen for a couple of seconds before an explosion rocks the footage. The camera captures some rubble, blood and unidentifiable parts scattered across the street, the orange hat rolling to a stop and a few minutes later, a burning kitten wandering off.

After reviewing the film, SERO representative Roger Hagenwood feels this could only be an attack on SERO and wants to keep an eye out for this Ace fellow, saying ”We all know those newcomers come back form death. This must have been a suicide attempt, knowing he’d survive it.” The Eberhardt labs received structural damage, breaking Darkness proofing.
