With Friends Like These... [ video ]
[ there's a bit of an unusual angle on the video this time - elevated quite a bit, nearly to the ceiling, and showing a fairly plain little room that appears to be an entrance to the house, if only due to the figure standing in the doorway. That would be Rion. There's the sound of raspy breathing somewhere nearby, but no other figure is onscreen, and he seems pretty much on his own until Ash's arrogant voice chimes in even closer to the camera. ]
You heard me. If you want a favor, then prove you're worth one.
[Rion's face looks less than amused. He's getting kind of sick of these little tests, as the way he cuts his hand through the air probably suggests.]
You're really testing my patience, you know. But fine, give your little test.... I can handle it.
[ and since testing patience is Ash's most prominent talent, he chuckles at that. ]
Let's see if you've still got Mother's strength, Rion.
[ off-screen, something evidently happens, because the raspy breathing is suddenly growling and shrieking, and its source becomes clear - three small, hunchbacked creatures, separated just enough from humanoid to be unnerving, rush towards him, hands outfitted with long, deadly claws, eyes glowing unnaturally. Despite the calm tones of the two men, it's obvious that they have every intent of killing Rion, who's readied himself for whatever Ash has up his sleeve. The animalistic sounds are all too familiar, as is the stab of pain in his skull as the creatures enter the room. Why does he always have to witness the chaos going on in these poor thing's minds? Oh right, because his powers were almost always in utter chaos themselves. He grits his teeth, shakes away the pain, and raises his hand. ]
I'll put you out of your misery.
[ And now he has to find a way to burn these things to a crisp without ruining the house. ]
