[If anyone's familiar with their English electronic bands, you might recognize
the song playing faintly in the ambience. There's shuffling and fumbling in between until someone finally speaks.]
So. [Quiet again. Rochelle's not sounding quite like herself today. As she went on she just seemed tired, quiet, and a little blue. It was a blue she was

... Uh-oh. Look who I got talking about cake.

People really need to pay less attention to the news. I'm getting more praise from this than I did when I graduated valedictorian.

It was a total accident, we're still freaking out, we are so not ready to be parents, and I'm...looking for a new house with more bedrooms.

You sound a lot more responsible than most other girls I've known that got knocked up. So you're thinking of keeping it--err, him? Her?
And I had a feeling that was an accident. Can't say I'd imagine Gabriel... you know, 'trying'. No offense.

I'm nineteen and I can barely take care of myself, and he's Gabriel. [Which is a good enough description.] But I don't have the heart to get right of it. [Pause.] ...her.

Okay, but ignoring the whole Gabriel part for a minute? I can tell you're not going to be on any trainwreck shows on MTV. At least you're trying. [And oh.] ... 'Her', huh?

[That's actually reassuring to hear, especially from someone like Rochelle. Jinx doesn't know a whole lot of women outside of Felton and she likes fewer. And Rochelle's one of Gabriel's only friends. Not to mention she's actually an adult.]
Yeah. Her. I'm worse luck than I thought. ...you really think I can do this?

[To be honest Jinx wasn't someone Ro knew well. But she was friends with Gabriel and knew Jinx through Gabriel, so. She might as well have lent a hand to a friend's girlfriend. Right?]
To be honest, Jinx? I don't know you enough to gauge it. Holding nephews and friend's kids is the most experience I've ever had with babies. I changed a diaper a couple times, too. Not pretty. But. If you want to keep her? Your daughter? I think it'll turn out okay in the end.
[Pause.]
I solemly swear I didn't get that out of a Hallmark card.

[She sighs.] I haven't even held a baby. I'm good with little boys, but only when they're, like, six and up. I mean, what if I drop her? Or scratch her? Or what if I don't know what to feed her and what do I do if she gets sick?
[Can you hear her pacing in the background? Because she's definitely pacing.]

Whoah, whoah whoah whoah whoah. Deep breath for a second, okay?

So--uh. How are you?

Hey. If it helps anything? I may know zip-shit about having a family, but what you're worried about is what EVERY parent worries about. And it's usually the good ones who do.
[MEANING YOU WILL BE A GOOD ONE. But she'll drop it, for now. She knows how helpful subject changes are, especially now.]
Shitty. You?
