[The NV has been propped up on a desk to film the interior of one of the starter apartments, or more specifically the occupant who has just switched it on. He leans back into his chair and seems to be taking everything in his stride; it’d be hard to tell he just got here if it weren’t for the streaks of pitcher’s mound dust on his coat and one of

Your name is Claire Stanfield, correct?
[ He knows already, but he wants to give him that chance to escape if he so chooses. He wants to see what this Rail Tracer will do. ]

[He gets over his surprise reasonably quickly. After all, even if it's a stranger they still live in his mind - why shouldn't he make a character who knows his name in this world?] I'm afraid I can't guess your name in return. Unless it's... Patrick?

Though it does only make sense that Claire does not know him. ]
My name is Huey Laforet.
[ The introduction is years later than he had intended, and under different circumstances. However, that does not change his intentions. ]

[Well it makes sense, he knows Chane because of Huey and so much of what he knows about her is bound up in Huey, if he decided that Chane must be here then it makes sense that Huey would be too, this must be a positive indication that he will find her.
It's just, couldn't he have found her first?]
I have heard of you.

[He'd rather not go into the actual reasons why right now.]
Sure, you're pretty well-known! You were in the paper just the other week. [It's not a lie - he just wouldn't have remembered the name without recent events to prompt him. He's savvy enough not to mention the content of the story. In fact, he wonders if he should even have mentioned the paper at all. It'd be nice if Huey could not hate him.]

I see. However, that has no bearing here.
[ A first hint of his intentions. "It would be wise to forget." ]

Guess not. After all, it's a whole 'nother ballpark we're in now.
[See? Awful. At least Huey's request doesn't trouble him. He's to protect Huey Laforet and he can best do that by protecting his name. Forgetting is a little trickier but can be pretended.]

Something to that effect, yes.

I'm surprised you know who I am, I don't think I've ever made the papers or anythin'. At least not under that name.
[He doesn't know of that earlier link between them that was never properly forged. His immediate thought is again Chane - she must have said something about him to her father already.]

I know a great deal about you, Claire Stanfield.
[ More than could be gained just by reading the papers. ]

Oh, uh. All good things, I hope!

I cannot promise that everything was...but you are impressive raw materials, indeed.
