[Hope might sound a bit... strange. Not sick, but just a bit more mature. And are the cracks in his voice gone? Either way, the tone is clearly disgruntled.]

I thought that person in the news turned people into kids.

[There's a pause, the embarrassment thick enough in the silence that it's hard to miss.]Kind of glad that I was pretty much home ( Read more... )

Umm...

[He's not sure he should be the one explaining this, especially since she sounds confused enough to be pretty new to this place.]

Pretty much, yeah? At least, there's a person here who can do it. But she's wanted by the police, and I guess she doesn't take very well to being told that when she's following you.

I-I see... [asdghasd pheeew, this place]

It really is amazing what the people here can do.

You just-- have to remember that most people here can do something? I think it makes it easier when you remember that, 'cause then you can deal with people like they all have hidden powers, which they kind of do.

But. Um. She's on the news, and if you do see her-- just walk away. Really.

Everyone? [she sounds a bit suspicious about that. After all she's here, and it's been made painfully clear in her life that she possesses no supernatural powers]

I'll make sure to do that... thank you for the warning.

Just about, I think. [That's his theory, anyway.]

And, uh, that's unless you'd want to spend a week as a kid. Or older. [Because he's never sure.]

... I see. [well this is something to look into, but this guy has already been so nice in answering her questions she doesn't want to bother him with more]

Older? Did... she turn you older?

[There's a somewhat embarrassed and muffled laugh.]

Yeah. I guess it's better than being turned into a kid, but-- uhh. Different. Really different.

[haha, the cute laugh makes her laugh a bit too]

I hope it's temporary?

Well, it happened to other people and someone said a week, so it should be okay. It's just going to be-- a very strange week? Maybe good.

It could be fun to be older for a week. [there's a pause...]

Although... y-yes, it would be very strange.

[Actually, now that he really thinks about it, it could work to his advantage.]

Strange is pretty common here, I think.

Um. I guess you're really new here, though?

Ah... yes. Is it that obvious? [haha, she's a bit embarrassed]

Oh, uhh-- not really! [Except it really is.] Just-- I guess most people who stay here a while get used to the idea of... people getting turned into a different age pretty fast.

I mean.

[There's a nearly inaudible sigh. He's not good with talking to people.]

...I'm Hope.

It's a pleasure to meet you Home, my name is Iris.
