[The feed clicks on to reveal a relatively handsome man somewhere in his early thirties, facing the device like he's already figured out how to use it. He smiles nervously toward the camera, his eyes flicking about the surroundings with unease. The man is obviously new, confused as to his location, and probably a ( Read more... )

[For all of twenty four hours, maybe a little more, Sherlock might have considered himself content in Siren's Port. He'd just closed a case, John returned, there were new people to investigate, and there was milk in the fridge again.

But as he's always been convinced, sentient or otherwise, the Core has an utterly sadistic sense of humor. With a text like that, it's almost pointless for it to be anonymous. But Moriarty would try and pretend he thinks Sherlock is beneath that sort of puzzle, wouldn't he?

Goddammit. Sherlock knew, while that at least Moriarty was away from London, it didn't mean anything. Things would just start all over again, but now-- No, he wouldn't admit he had more at stake than previously. Neither will he admit that small feeling, that surge of adrenaline that helps him to breathe clearer than ever, when his eyes go over the two words, over and over again.]

[God, yes, because despite the distraction of the asylum escapees, the competition, the frankly cliche villainy-- Moriarty dwarfed all of those. But part of him, the part still barely in charge, thinks of all the possibilities. With the companies, Moriarty could become just what he was in London, and this little island could be his little puppet show.

He was a bit shocked that he didn't want that to happen. No, but Moriarty would be his problem. John would probably be informed, but Sherlock was doing this alone.]

Don't tell me you're becoming routine.

Or the Core's forced you to. How must it feel, to be dangling from strings just like other people?
