What the heck is all this?

[She sounds angry, though it’s hard to tell. Her voice is ragged and she’s obviously exhausted, the starts of bruising forming underneath the skin of her face and arms. Still, it’s obvious that she’s only a teenager, someone has clearly roughed her up pretty good, and she isn’t happy about her new home. It's not dark ( Read more... )

Seems like you got yourself in a world of hurt, chicken-legs. I can respect wanting to do some monster fighting, but I don't use clinics or hospitals at all, food is no good, and nurses never seem to take a joke.

I'll be fine, I've gotten worse.

[And really, considering who she just fought before getting here, she's in pretty good shape. Yup.]

Wait, Ch-chicken-legs? What the heck's THAT supposed to mean?

Ah, one of those grin and bear things type huh.

[Tilts his head to one side]

It means you have skinny long legs.

Better than whining and complaining.

[Doing either of those things won't make it go away.]

...I'm not sure whether to be happy or insulted. Or both.

[Because there's nothing wrong with being skinny, unless you're too skinny. And she's got muscle, thankyouverymuch.]

Bitching and moaning can be annoying, they are a few of those here.

[Smirks]

I'd probably go with happy, insulted didn't make it to the cut for the seven dwarves.

Well, they should learn to suck it up.

[She hasn't exactly has a normal childhood.]

If you say so.

[Wait, is he calling her short, now? She...really can't tell.]

My sentiments exactly, good stuff.

[Eye raise]

You have something against snow white and the seven dwarves?

[Yeah, she's confused.]

No...I just don't see what that has to do with anything.

[Unless he really just likes random literary references.]

Thats alright, most people need to have a certain level of awesome to understand what I say.

[Shrugs]

You seem a bit woobly, chicken-legs, you sure you can make it without help?

[She's just going to roll her eyes at that one. She's too tired to argue at the moment.]

I'll be fine. My partner's coming to get me, and I'll bandage myself up once I'm indoors.

Neato burrito, I'm sure you will fit in just fine. At night, this place really gets swinging, if monster fighting is your thing. They are all over the place every single night, and you can keep killing the same ones over and over.

Yeah, it's definitely my thing. Or one of them, anyway.

[That catches her attention, though.]

How can you fight something that's dead over and over?

Oh see, the monsters in this place get respawned all the time just like in a video game. You might fight different things, but every night you could eliminate every single monster and they would return the next night. Its pretty fun times out there, lots of different types. I'm sure you can probably find a field guide or something...

[Waves his hand like this isn't something he cares to do]

I prefer to just learn as you go, but I'm sure you'll want to actually know what you are fighting before hand, because you are a keener.

Eh, I didn't get field guides back home, and I don't see why I'd need them now.

[Which isn't entirely true. They had textbooks, but those are helpful for generic information. They always got a little bit of info before a mission, but for the most part they were generally going into a fight blind.]

Seems a little redundant, though it won't stop me. It wouldn't be good for me to get complacent.
