Annexation doesn't seem so ludicrous from an outsider's point of view. but I guess you'd have insider's knowledge to that, huh.

Dr. Pyke would sooner hand the hospital off to our resident transients.

Wow. That's some resolve. And here my next question was going to be "don't you think everyone person has their price" but I'd say you just answered that, in a way. Or at least hinted to the answer.

The chief director has been called many things, but one thing he's been accused of most is being an advocate for public healthcare. Giving the indigent an option that isn't SERO's waivered medical research programs.

So he'll stay staunch in that resolve, no matter what? Or, at least--you think he will?

I think preserving Skye's policy and unaffiliated agency remains his priority.

That's really good news for all of us. I mean, better to plan for the worst, don't you think--but I guess I can't blame you for thinking so loyally, not when it concerns someone like that. Someone purportedly like that.

What do you mean, plan for the worst?

Sounds like quite a character. And--if you can forgive the weakness of the word--a really good person to work for.

Do you like him?

Excuse me? My employer...

He's...a good person, of course. I... know there's much to be said for a man of his ideals- and outward appearances, but it's a good hospital. A wonderful hospital. I'm proud to be working there. If that's what you're asking.

But as a person? On a personal level? You're proud to be working at that hospital--is that the same thing as proud to be working for your employer?

He is everything the hospital represents.

See, now that's an interesting choice of words. It's almost like saying he is the hospital, which makes me wonder where you and all your peers figure in to that. If there wasn't a Skye, where would you be working?

That's certainly something to speculate on.
