See? My guild is a really powerful group of mages though, and a lot of the time we go a bit overboard with our jobs, and towns get destroyed, or mountains are leveled. It's a hazardous job to be a mage after all.

Well, people almost never get hurt when we're on the job... we just have the worst track record when it comes to property damage. A lot of the time we have to use most of the reward money to compensate for damages.

Not really... It's pretty hard to learn new forms of magic, and the magic we use tends to be incredibly necessary for our bigger jobs, so it's a bit impractical. Actually, most of the time it's just a lack of judgement skills that causes us to do unnecessary property damage.
