[All these pleas... Just what kind of town did he wake up in? By this time he's convinced himself it's alright to talk to who-ever's picked up his signal... At least.. they all seemed to just want to help.]
This place is very different then a normal location. After the sirens go off the world changes for the worst. There are creatures out there, sir. If your room is safe then you should stay inside. If you're in the apartments it's safe to wander around the building. You can look out to see what I mean, but do be careful.
[a pause, she's in full greeter mode] You're in Siren's Port... Canada. Are you hurt?
[95% of that went over his head, but the last bit had him at a stand-still from his incessant pacing about the small flat.]
C..Canada? I'm in Canada?
[Oh God, how long was he out? Was he drugged? Shanghaied? Who would even want to--
He didn't want to think that last part, because he knew the answer. And it scared him shitless, far more-so than the shrieking beasts outside. His voice is quiet, as if he's trying with all his might not to sound like a timorous wreck.]
Ah, yes, Canada. [she speaks faster for a moment] It's very complex but there's no need to worry... too much. It's happened to a lot of us and I know it's a lot of information to take on all at once but please do believe me. [A small breath, a pause and a sigh as she slows down some]
We don't... know why we are here. There are a lot of us here now though. A few hundred I think. From all kinds of places. I'm from Tokyo myself. I've been here a while now, so I can answer a lot of question but sadly that one is still a mystery.
[A simple smile, even if he can't see it could be heard in her voice. Softly spoken, using only her first name as her full name confuses people] I'm Himawari. And yourself?
[His brain feels like it's been bricked a few times... but otherwise...]
I wish I could say I've been in worse scrapes.
[Then again, this was hard to compare to facing homicidal maniacs and being sent to the nut-house from several cases of PTSD. This was a whole other level of bizarre.]
It counts for a lot! At least it's a positive in your favor.
[truly, it could be worse. He could be riddled with wounds and bleeding out while trying to figure out where he was. She'd seen a few of those after all these months.]
You described a room and some men who brought you there. I'm... assuming they brought you to the apartments, but I'm not positive. Have you had a chance to look around?
When I woke up I had dirt and powder on my face... like the kind you see at the baseball fields..
[Hopelessly observant of these seemingly tiny details.]
..But I haven't left this room since then. The windows are barred and.. the door seems sturdy..
[Save for the blackened.. plague-like filth creeping around the corners of the threshold. Had he known what it meant, it'd be obvious that someone brought him in here after dark... allowing the Darkness to breach just that area.]
[She took the info in careful and chuckled to herself softly, nodding, though he couldn't see it.]
That solves that. You're a new arrival for sure. We show up in a baseball field just near the apartments. You must have had a really hard fall when you came in. It's happened before.
[another moments pause and then brightly she states] Tower one, room three-oh-two. I'm actually just down the hall from you, three-oh-six. The hallways are perfectly safe as is the inside of the complex, but try not to open any of your windows, for now. They're free apartments for the first month or so, while you get on your feet. Safe, for the most part.
[Falling... Yeah, he remembered falling. The stinging on his face was enough of a clue. Along with the nausea and the distinct acidic taste of puke on his tongue.
God, he pined for a drink. Water.
Where was the sink?]
Safe..
[Spoke rather distantly as he groped about in the dark, wincing when he found a light and the silver shine of a faucet. The small squeaking of the knobs brought forth what was expected as a cleansing gush.. yet the brown liquid shit that spewed out was anything but.]
[She heard the sound of the tap squeak, and as he mentioned the water not being safe, she winced]
Oh... I should have warned you about that. When the morning comes just run the tap for ten minutes or so. It clears out after the Darkness is gone. You might want to stock pile a few water jugs to fill each night.
[A considering pause and a small hum before:] I keep spares... in case someone shows up at night. I could bring one over. Are you hungry at all?
Those sirens are the warning for night arriving. If your location is safe, please don't go outside.

What is it? What the Hell is out there?

But he settled for the simplest first. Anything mundane that would stop him from sweating bullets.]
...What's your name?

[Wow, that's exotic. He tried hard to pronounce it right, really :( ]
Sound's pleasant next to mine.
[His was so plain.]
It's Will.

I think Will is a fine name. Are you unharmed, Will?

Just.. really thirsty.
I-if I'm not being trouble for you.
[It was probably late, much later than he remembered. An ungodly time for a nice girl to be up chatting with a weird drunk like him anyway.]
