For anyone who's really looking at the video feed, they'll notice that there are serious scorch marks on the building opposite Phoenix's office. In fact, it was the lower floors of his office block that were set on fire.]

My name is Phoenix Wright, and for those of you don't know me. I'm the co-founder of Wright & Co Law Offices here in Siren's Port, a company founded on and occasionally supported by the Newcomer Fund, one of several ventures that you, as Newcomers, have invested in. I also, on this occasion, speak for the Newcomer Fund, as Miles Edgeworth, its founder, is otherwise occupied with his lawsuit against AGi.
I'd like to draw your attention to today's news. If you haven't already noted it, the SPSL is the bank from which the Newcomer Fund is managed, chosen because with its long history of neutral service, it seemed unlikely to be put in a position wherein it was bought out at all, let alone by either AGi or SERO. [Not that he thinks it's a coincidence that AGi seem resolved to buy it up, considering Edgeworth's involvement.] However today's announcement and the rumours surrounding it seem to suggest otherwise.
First of all, I'd like to reassure you that everything is being done to resolve the situation, and should anything happen to the funds themselves I know that we will see that the full weight of the law is applied. A large portion of the Newcomer Fund is secure in solid assets; stocks, shares, bonds and investments, and these can be dissolved if necessary in order to continue to provide support for those Newcomers that need it. For the time being, however, the fund itself has been frozen, and its liquid assets are in general inaccessible.
Secondly, I would like to remind our supporters that no money can currently be paid in, either, and I urge all of you whose accounts were automatically crediting a certain amount to the fund each month to please stop doing so for the time being, so your money doesn't get lost in transit.
Please remember in this time of uncertainty to help your fellow Newcomers where necessary. We will do everything we can to see that none of you are left homeless, with your leases on the Newcomer apartment complex coming to a close, but please bear with us. Remember: together we can overcome any challenges.
