[ so it's probably been firmly established for anyone that knows those who live in phancyhive that no one there ever sleeps.

and that's true as per usual, except this time it doesn't involve baking at ridiculous hours of the night.

it involves what is apparently a massive pillow fort right in the middle of the hallway at one o' clock in the morning

[Enter: a slightly large brown barn spider with light and dark markings. The spider skitters around the impromptu pillow fort, checking on childish architecture from all sides. Eerie and eager, more curious than it should be, it grapples onto one of the outermost pillows and climbs up and in to scope out the sole occupant.

It's very cautious when peeking into view, though. It doesn't want to get squished.]

[ luckily enough for the spider, because of alois's love of them and the subsequent abundance in the apartment and then here, luca had grown far too comfortable with them.

nonetheless, he doesn't reach out for it. comfortable didn't mean being without caution. instead, when it catches his eye, he leans forward to peer at it, watching it right back. ]

[The spider skitters into full view, but doesn't drop down inside the fort. Illuminated from behind, it almost looks pretty with its clean glowing fur and four prominent eyes bright as gold.

After a second, it sidesteps to the nearest corner of the "window" leading in. It twirls in place, scanning the area, and then begins to--weave a web? Yes, displaying amazing skill, this spider reenacts something out of a children's book by using its silk threads to make letters across the gap. The word shines silver, easily readable, although it isn't sure if Luca can read yet.]

[ first there's genuine surprise-- Luca had never gotten fully through Charlotte's Web because of what Alois had dubbed the "Charlotte Incident", but he had gotten far enough to know that the spider had been able to do the exact same thing.

so second there's wonder, third amazement, and fourth delight.

would the spider be able to understand words like Charlotte had? ]

[She sees it first on her NV - Hannah is tucked away inside her room, you see - and she smiles instantly. Fond, amused and somewhat exasperated. Luca should be in bed, not making mammoth pillow forts in the dead of night. It is fortunate, then, that Hannah is not doing anything of immediate importance. With one last look, she pockets her NV under her dress (a tug of her collar, down under the front and in between her skin and her corset). It occurs to her as she leaves her bedroom, that perhaps pockets would be a useful thing to have on her uniform.

A thought for another time.

There is no contract anymore, but Luca is still easy to find. It's instinct that leads Hannah down the correct hallway until she finds him and she slows her steps. Approaches cautiously, still smiling fondly. The sight is nothing if not adorable and ambitious.

She coughs to get his attention; her arms are folded across her chest, head tilted and her eyebrow raised.]

[ luca peers out from the pillow fort at the sound of hannah's voice, grinning when he sees her. he ambles out, toddling over to grab onto her skirt and attempt to pull her towards it. ]

Mr. Akira said I need to put solid stuff behind the pillows to keep it up.

[There really is no question of whether Hannah goes or not; she is pulled towards it effortlessly, expression amused. She gets to her knees, even, both to be at eye level with Luca and to follow his order.

She follows him inside, carefully so as not to knock his hard work down.]

Do you plan to commandeer all the stable objects you can fine, too?
