What they did was their own decision. They're your friends, but you can't be completely responsible for them.
You backed out for a reason. No going back on it now. Getting caught alongside them won't do anyone any favors.

They're idiots. You're not. Good to see you finally acting like it.
[Even if it took half the Port keeping him from flying off the handle for it to happen. Snake has absolutely no love for AGI. But he knows his trade. There was no question in his mind that rushing in like that would have gotten Liquid killed or captured himself. And that was a goddamned waste, no matter what had happened between them.]

It would help. You used to be better than this.
[It's not really a compliment, it's just true. Liquid may have been acting the idiot lately, but Snake knew from painful experience that he wasn't stupid. He'd never been one to disregard an opponent's abilities. May not have agreed with what Liquid had been trying to accomplish or how, but no one took command of FOXHOUND unless they were at the top of the game.]
