How have you been settling in, since I spoke to you last?

Well, you're very welcome. [Two can play the flattery game, after all~]

Fine, just fine. My first trip to the store was a little scary, but this place is definitely interesting.

[Oh, Francis certainly loves flattery~]

That's very good to hear. And you've been staying nice and cozy in your apartment at night, oui?

[jazzmurderess]

Oh, sure. Trying not to look out the windows, is all. [A nervous laugh. She's kind of...terrified. Of the Darkness.]

[Don't worry, he was terrified of it when he first arrived and he's still a little jumpy about it.]

Well, I'm pleased things seem to be going well for you, Roxie. Any thoughts as to a job yet, or are you taking it easy?

[jazzmurderess]

Oh, I was plannin' on going down to that Purgatory joint tomorrow to see about maybe getting a job there! Hopefully they're looking for an act.

Ah, so you're a singer and dancer? Je vois. I hope they'll take you! The owner seems eager for new employees, so you have a good chance.

[jazzmurderess]

That's right. [She smiles, a good imitation of modesty.] I sure hope you're right. It is my dream, after all.

There's at least one good thing about this place, chérie: it has a habit of giving people their dream jobs. I never thought I'd be a chef for a living, I thought I'd be stuck in government work for the rest of my life.

[jazzmurderess]

A chef, hmm? Always did love a man who could cook. [Mainly because it means she doesn't have to, but she'll leave that part out.] Sounds much more fun than a government job.

[paysdelamour]

And I've always loved women who love men who can cook. [Oh, he is not trying to be subtle at all.]

Oui, it certainly is. Cooking and painting are two of my many hobbies, and they are much better than government work. Signing papers day in and day out, going to dull meetings... ugh. That is certainly not one thing I will miss about home.

[jazzmurderess]

[Roxie sees your lack of subtlety and raises you one blatant remark.] Well, I guess that makes me one lucky girl!

[She wrinkles her nose at the thought.] Ugh, boring! Give me the stage over that any day.

[And he'll raise you another obvious flirt.] Non, that makes me one incredibly lucky man.

Oui, I could not agree with you more. Hence why I'm glad to be working as a chef here.

[jazzmurderess]

[She giggles.] Oh, get outta town. [But not really :|]

I wish I could, mais, we're stuck here. [He chuckles a little in return.]
