Given the event so recently behind us, I have found myself asking that question more frequently and with ramifications more serious than I had originally anticipated. Call it a smaller, more personal and permanent awakening.

The difference today is that there is a sleek filing box set atop the heavy wooden desk.

Savings and other investments are more than enough to provide for my household and so employment has become superfluous and time-consuming.
[ There is a pause when he picks up a small, familiar-looking book; he spends a minute or two examining the word cover, before muttering to himself: ] "I stood / Among them, but not of them; in a shroud / Of thoughts which were not their thoughts."
[ A moment more and then the little book goes into the box with all the rest. ]
I find that I would prefer to pursue my own projects while I retain the capacity to do so.
My work is complete. I need only test the seal and we may employ it upon the Heartless, the Nobody, or both.
