[ Hello there, Siren's Port. This is Xigbar, sitting behind a desk in a very posh-looking office. He's dressed in a jacket, shirt, and tie -- the epitome of the smartly dressed businessman. Hands folded in front of him, he looks absolutely professional; he smiles into the camera. ]Evening, ladies and gents of Siren's Port. My name is Xigbar, and ( Read more... )

Quite so, curious inquirer.

As I told little miss mysterious up there, we at the Xino E. Mao Corporation are all about improving the general status quo for natives and Newcomers like.

Our organization has two primary objectives: First, to create a platform by which all residents of Siren's Port can air their grievances regarding our parent company Afterglow, Inc. and resolve them to the best of our ability. Second, to provide protection to those who need it. To do this, we will be assembling a group of specialists capable of combating the creatures that come out after sirens and working to secure the less privileged areas of our fair city.

Overall, improving the city as a whole is what we would like to see.

Oh excellent. A customer service company with benefits. Please excuse my sarcasm. I work for AGi, but you don't expect my to buy this, do you?

Couldn't really tell ya, curious inquirer. Everyone's got their biases.

I'm just spreading the word.

And you've clearly got some motive of you own in doing so, so please be a little more frank with me. I'm no idle browser, nor simply a curious inquirer, but I do have very little patience. What does AGi get out of it?

An excellent question, Mr. Kira. [ Yes, he knows who you are. ]

What does any large company that engages in questionable activities gain from a little good PR?

Light, please, and why don't you tell me? AGi has nothing to be ashamed of; it's doing nothing unlawful.

Well, that's the kicker, isn't it?

Sad to say, "legality" and logic don't always win out in the court of public opinion. Not to mention all the misconceptions that so many seem fond of spreading.

Our job is to make sure all sides of the story are heard and dealt with accordingly.

[ In a way that favors AGI, of course, but that should be a given. ]

Yet instead of dealing with the issue you intend to pander to it?

You don't track muddy footprints through your own house and not clean them up, do you?

Comparisons don't really stand in for logic.

Sure, they do.

You're okay with muddy footprints; I am not.

It's all about preferences.

My mother kept a spotlessly clean house. That does not mean that AGi has to care about the little man. Leave no evidence for lawyers to eat up in court, certainly, but little else.

Who said anything about caring?

[ A smirk. ]

Our job is to make sure people like what they see. If they do, they're more likely to choose us than the white coats down the street.

Even the little man has the potential to be something more.

Ah, I see. So it's a recruitment ploy. How's it working out for you?

Oh, about they way I expected it to.

There's some interest, but it'll take a little time to pick up.

There more we do, the more people will see.
