You know, there are very few joys to being a small business owner. You do get to be your own boss, but most of the time that means your boss ends up being an ass and makes you work a lot of overtime. You have a ton of paperwork to do and taxes are a serious pain.

In Siren's Port though, you do get to yell at representatives of AGI or SERO to get ( Read more... )

Some of us. Luckily Pyke doesn't allow recruitment at Skye.

Maybe I need to more aggressively not allow recruitment at my place.

Might be the best course of action.

Hey, are you still thinking of possibly opening a school?

Yes I am. Looking into what I need to do legally at this point, to have teachers accredited and so on.

If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know. I know I'm not exactly the poster child for responsible Newcomer, but if I can help I want to.

Given you are teaching some of the children here who have magical abilities, perhaps be willing to teach a class on occasion?

Actually, I was wondering how you are with protection, well charms or spells I suppose. Something to protect the property and those who live here?

I could, although honestly what I try to teach is how to use magic responsibly as much as I teach how to use it.

[Private]

I could do that. The more elaborate you want it, the more expensive it is though.

Honestly when it comes to powers of any kind, responsible use is just as important as teaching someone how to use their powers.

Explain what you can do and we'll go from there?

Unfortunately that doesn't mean you don't have to put up with questions like, "Yes, but when are we going to learn to turn people into toads?!"

[Private]

The more a place is a home, the more powerful any ward I place on it is going to be. The more time and materials I can put into it, the stronger it will be. Now if only a limited number of people should be getting in, you can make essentially a key, an item they can use to turn the ward off and on while they're coming and going. If lots of people are going to be going in and out all the time, it would probably be best to have it turned off and on at a panic switch.

I think William can already do that... [Amused]

The basement...there are an extremely limited number, the second floor up residents and guests. The first floor is really open, to the public until they prove themselves not welcome. Would be possible to ward it in that way with also have a panic switch over the entire property?

I have no doubt that he could do that and more.

[Private]

I think we could manage that. What do you want the ward to do?
