[Sora looks like he’s had a fist fight with a loaded paintbrush. White smears of paint are streaked down his cheek, all over his jacket and gloves. One of those paint-smudged fingers happens to be tapping the screen experimentally-probably what triggered the message to start.]
So all I gotta do is turn this thing on and ask everybody if they’ve seen my friends?
[When Sora looks up, the voice of a woman is speaking back to him. She’s in the adjoining room, voice muffled by distance. Behind his head onscreen is a freshly painted wall with a slightly wet sheen. Looks like a fresh coat! It also looks like Sora’s a casualty of the Starter Apartment’s renovations and spring cleaning.]
Huh? Oh! There’s Riku- he’s about this tall and has messy white hair. Then there’s Kairi, who’s got red hair just down to here. They were with me on the island before I got pulled here.
[The owner of the voice comes out with a bouncing baby on her arm. The baby's got his fingers jammed in his mouth as he drools all over his mother’s shirt.] -not very likely, but if they’re here, then they must be in one of these apartments, dear. All the new people end up here. I'm sure they're fine. In any case, now that you’re finished putting together the table and painting the living room, there’s still the baby’s room! You can help me and [She leans down, lips puckered as she taps her baby’s nose] Honeypumpkin do a second coat.
[Sora hesitates.] But… my friends…
[She looks up at him, pleadingly. She even clutches the baby in her arms- the very image of someone in desperate need.]
[Sora slumps. He knows when he’s beat. The baby gurgles with delighted laughter as the woman continues:] Perfect! Then there’s more paint out in the lobby you can bring up.
[Sora just sighs and shoves the NV into his pack. The screen is black for a full three minutes before it finally turns off.]
[ooc: Replies will take place later, half an hour before the sirens go off for the night. Sora will be sitting out on the apartment steps fiddling with his NV.]
