I don't... I don't really...

[an intentional video, this time! or so it seems: there's a close-up shot of two big take-out boxes balanced in his right hand alone (which is the right color again, though there's a good number of scraps all over it), and when he speaks, Allen sounds... somewhat exhausted, but almost distressed, too. subtly, but it's ( Read more... )

[he doesn't even know how that's possible.]

Ah. Okay.

...Is the food still warm?

Right now?

Yeah, definitely. ... - Do the boxes keep them warm somehow? [another technological invention?!]

A little. But the point is that's how the food's meant to be eaten. If it gets cold later, you heat it up again.

With a microwave, it seems.

Yes, actually, if used improperly. Don't put metal in there, for once thing. Tinfoil can't go in either.

On the metal? How does it keep going?

I don't know. There are other things inside a microwave beyond metal. Anyway, that's just what happens.

That's rather... Scary.

[he was going to swear off of technology forever.]

Just don't put metal in there. - Or containers that can melt or catch fire, like paper, cardboard or cheap plastic. Glass works best as a heating container, but most dishes have writing on the bottom that say whether or not they're microwave safe.

The ovens don't work the same way, do they? They seem just like -- bigger microwaves, I sort of assumed they'd work the same...
