THIS IS PERFECT. <3alwaysforhimNovember 8 2011, 20:13:02 UTC
There were many creatures in the world, Merlin knew, both of supernatural and ordinary make, and it was presumptuous of him to think he might know them all. After all, he was only twenty-two and untraveled (in his own world, never mind the countless others that seemed to exist). Even journeying to Siren's Port had proved an exercise in learning new things, for the Darkness brought hundreds of creatures the likes of which Merlin had never before heard, let alone seen.
Still. After months here, he had been quite certain he'd seen it all-- or at least, variations on it all. Perhaps he hadn't known all types of dragon, but he certainly knew of them. Fairies had been discovered and fought against, though he wasn't knowledgeable about the different variations within the species. And so on

But peace and quiet never last for long. As soon as she heard the greeting she froze, body stiff before whipping herself around on the rock, eyes darting quickly to find the individual which the voice had belonged to. A man became apparent and immediately she slipped into the water below. Seconds passed before slowly, ever so slowly, she surfaced, fingers curling around the edge of the rock as she peered over.
He...seemed harmless enough. Even so, she'd keep her distance for now.
NOT AS SORRY AS I AM FOR MINE I hope you still want to continue this. ;A;alwaysforhimDecember 7 2011, 05:12:14 UTC
"Hullo," he replies, giving her a small wave and a cheerful grin. She looks terrified, but that'll soon change; heaven only knows he doesn't mean her any harm. Carefully, without any quick movements, he sits on the sand, long legs curled beneath him. "My name is Merlin. What's yours?"
OF COURSE I BACKTAG FOREVER ;~;seaphonicDecember 15 2011, 06:29:31 UTC
There's a hint of hesitation as she drew away from the rock, sinking back in the water. A moment later she was closer to the shore but still very much in the shallow water, fingers digging in the sand as the water washed over her back gently, rhythmically. It was calming.
"Syrena." She tilted her head to the side for a moment, to consider him.
