Unfortunately, closer inspection paints a very different tale. The young boy is very pale and thin, like he's obviously been suffering from something for quite some time. His breathing is also very labored, and it almost seems like his body is going to give up any minute.

"Come on, try and stay awake, okay? I'm gonna help you as much as I can, kid..."
(ooc: Sorry for the delay. My internet cut out last night. Dx )

Scowling in worry, he shifted his arms, trying to put one under the boy's legs and lift him up, all the while hoping it didn't just cause him more pain. He needed a hospital, fast.

He wasn't sure what was going on or why, but if this fool wanted to drag him around, then so be it. It wasn't like he had the strength to stop him.

"Sorry..." was all he said to the sounds of discomfort and protest, but he didn't stop, picking him up and heading towards the exit.

Still, it wasn't like he could say anything in protest. All he could do was hang on weakly as he was dragged to the hospital.

It was not a short walk, nor easy when carrying some one even as light as this kid. But determination went a long way, and he kept walking even when his arms started hurting from toting an entire person all the way to the hospital.
"I really hope you don't kick the bucket, kid..." he muttered at one point, a few blocks away from the hospital.

The hospital eventually came in sight, people milling about near the emergency ward. It was a moment before an ambulance driver saw them, calling over some of his coworkers. They met Duo half way, taking the boy off his hands and asking a flurry of questions: What happened? How long had he been like this?

It felt weird to just drop and run, though, so he asked if he could stay, figuring some one would need to fill the kid in whenever he was awake.

The boy was fine, for the most part, though he was hooked up to a machine that was breathing for him. He was stable and conscious at the moment, though; would he like to see him?
Reply
He agreed to it and followed the nurse back to the room, giving a knock on the door frame once he arrived.
"Hey."
Reply
A pen and paper had been left on the stand beside him, though he didn't have the strength to reach for it. At least communication would not be impossible.
Reply
He pulled up one of the nearby chairs next to the bed and flopped in to it, noticing the paper and pen before speaking again.
"So, kid, you got a name?"
