[Daedalus stops by the wall after his morning shift at the NPP clinic, skimming over the collected paper strips.

Some of them are bittersweet. He decides to play along sportingly with a shake of his head and a soft laugh, picking up a pen, deciding on a modest request of sorts:]

No riots or natural disasters in the coming year would be most appreciated.

[For a doctor's handwriting, it's not terribly illegible. He pauses, and perhaps a bit less sardonically reaches for a second slip of paper.]

For a coming year of good health and gratifying purpose, for all who lack in either.

They're supposed to be selfish, you know. Wishes for yourself.

Then it's good to remember our goals and objectives every once in awhile, isn't it?

...wishing for the things that are beyond our control- it's a good thought, but nothing to get hung up in. I suppose that's why it's healthy practice to just put them down here, and let them be, and refocus on the things within our bounds.
