In the pitch of the black, the light had been the only thing that Mina had seen. Its location was unknown, as was her own. The feeling of nausea and disorientation had quickly faded, though the fact that she even felt it was curious enough. She shouldn't feel anything of the sort; she hadn't since she'd died.

Her eyes attuned easily to the black of the night and she turned slowly as she looked around. It wasn't hard for her to know that she was out of place, her Victorian dress a contrast with the location that she found herself in. Mina couldn't described it. It was a field of some sort but... it was nothing like she knew. Oddly placed seating and strange markings on the ground. The lack of familiarity with her setting was worrying but not visibly so - she'd learned long ago how to keep her feelings hidden, along with controlling how she reacted to them. Mina found it hard to believe that where she was was possible. Another impossibility was her being here. She didn't sleep and there was nothing known that could incapacitate her, save dying and Dorian had been the last person to kill her, though her being here was proof enough that it hadn't worked. It was confusing. She had brief ideas going through her head but nothing solid or complete enough to be a theory.

"What is this place?"

It wasn't long after the question had been asked before Mina felt the presence of another. Hearing their quiet footsteps she turned, facing in their direction and looking straight at them. Her first impression was that they seemed more familiar with their location, though she wouldn't have said more comfortable. She said nothing, not yet, simply waiting. The few seconds more of silence gave her more to go on; feelings of others, smells, even partial body language. This did not seem good.

"Where am I?"

Mina did not doubt that she wouldn't like nor wish to ear what they would say. Her location, her impression, her confusion, they all added up to tell her that something was amiss - not that she hadn't quickly worked that out with her own feelings. Whatever this was... it was bigger than what she had faced previously and, if she allowed herself to feel fear, it scared her.

She'd been resistant at first to answer their questions, not wishing to divulge anything without being told anything herself in return. Eventually she answered, though her information was short in coming. She'd been in Africa in 1899, though what this had to do with her arrival she did not know - though Mina hadn't voice that sentiment. She allowed them to lead her, keeping a watchful and weary eye upon them and her surrounding. And now she was faced with another, someone else unfamiliar and yet mildly more comfortable. What she would face this time... she did not wish to guess.

As the first set of Newcomers began to trickle their way past the doctors and the scientists scrutinizing them, Re-l stood out in the parking lot to receive them. There were other greeters, of course, but they were of neutral affiliations. They were locals; they could care less about the people who came in from other worlds. She didn't expect them to trust her, but she had a feeling they'd look on her better than the others.

She spotted a young woman as she came out and she moved to greet her. Funnily enough, her manner of dress was not so different from Re-l's.

She extended a hand in greeting. "Welcome to Siren's Port. I'm Re-l Mayer, Newcomer caseworker." She glanced back at the set of people who led her out as they retreated. She frowned. "Were there any troubles?"

Mina looked to the woman as she approached, not returning her handshake. She was weary, rightly so, and despite her introduction - and an odd introduction it was - she didn't feel any more settled about the place. 'Were there any troubles'? It seemed as if, to this woman, that what had happened was a regular occurrence - particularly with the rest of the group around her.

"Where are we?" Siren's Port? It was an unfamiliar names. She wasn't well travelled but she prided herself on her knowledge and she made a note of knowing where places were through conversation and reading. Siren's Port had never come up, nor had this particular behaviour.

That was fine; she didn't expect to be treated with an open fondness by anyone coming to the diamond. She shrugged it off. "Yes, it's a city called Siren's Port. It's an island just off the coast of Canada. It's May, 2011."

They hadn't given her any information on this woman yet, unfortunately, so she couldn't know her name, her time period, or her previous occupation. She would just have to go through the information as if the woman wasn't told a thing. Somehow, she figured SERO wouldn't care. "It's not in any history books or newspapers. It's an island that very few know about in the world outside of this little island. We're completely closed off; no one's been able to leave this place."

An addendum. "People do go home. Several have left and come back with no memory of their time in the Port and others just...don't come back. There's just no known way off of the island."

"2011?" Her tone was rather incredulous. It wasn't possible, it couldn't be. Even more so with being kept captive. She didn't wish to believe it. Being captive was ridiculous enough, particularly with how she had arrived, though being captive over a century in the future?

"How often does this happen?" If she were a Newcomer Casework this couldn't be a one off occurrence, not with the amount of people that had arrived with her.
