I am alive, I promise. I've thought about it, and it's time to start LJing again. I have to go through and make most things Friends Only, though, because apparently out here in the real world people like to read things you wrote when you were 15 and angry at the world and use that as an excuse not to like you or hire you

As long as you don't link your Livejournal account to Myspace or Facebook accounts, I don't know how your most casual real life contacts are going to find you, unless they search for your email or instant messenger accounts.

Googling my first and last name brings up my livejournal...and oddly enough googling "Ghost hunting" does the same. it actually at one point was the first result on that query...it may not be anymore. anyway, in the office that i work in, one of the supervisors actually looks actively for LJs, Xangas, etc. of students and employees.

I find it creepy too. This one person in particular at my office (where we advise students on classes to take for degrees) actually facebooks, LJs, MySpaces, etc. students who one in for appointments and either a) uses their interests to start conversations or b) uses their recent activity to question their performance in class. He actually says things like "I see you haven't gone to class, yet you were sending facebook messages at 2:20am..."
