Happy and sad
I got my official acceptance to Rutgers MLIS program today.
Also today, one of my cats, Marigold, was put to sleep. My mom said she hadn't been eating all weekend and looked pretty out of it. She took her to the vet, where they discovered she had a very large tumor. If they didn't put her to sleep, she probably would have starved to death. My mom didn't tell me until afterwards. She didn't want to ruin my weekend, and thinks i would probably be happier not seeing her in pain. I still wish i had the chance to say goodbye. She was such a sweet cat, greeted every visitor at the door. She was the only cat i've met that you could have extended mewing conversations with. She was about 12 years old. My mom is making appointments for both of our other cats, Tiger Lily (her sister) and Callie (who turned 15 yesterday or today) to be checked out and bloodwork done. This is the worst part about having pets. I just wish they lived as long as we did.
Rest in Peace, Marigold. You were such a good cat, and i'm sorry we didn't get to have you in our lives for longer.
