Seamstress anyone? Does anyone know how to sew....?

It might just be my mood or something...
But I'm a bit frustrated.

I'm in this gypsy, pirate-ish, flowy, type of dressing mood lately...and although I like Holy Clothing, I am looking for something with a little more somethin'.
I've written to the Gypsy Moon folks who have these amazing clothes...

Potential seamstresses. byrdie July 17 2007, 23:41:21 UTC
You might want to talk to either Ramina or girlshawn, as they both sew. Someone I know on the Lush forum made a skirt much like the top one using layering. I think she hand-stitched it.

Good luck!

Miss Pearl (mspurplepearl) can make whatever you want. She has made all of her, her husbands and their daughters outfits for cons, sca, and such events. She also has made many peices for others.

I think you met her at con when i picked up or dropped of her clothyes i was borrowing... if not i am sure i introduced you at some point.

Just send her a message, i know she wouldn't mind.

Good luck!

The outfit choices are really great!

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my LJ and pointing me at these pictures. This style of clothing is not at all difficult to sew, and I would be delighted to be tasked with creating outfits similar to what you have pictured. If you'd like to see some of the things I have created, there is a small gallery here:

I do want to point out that you are "spot on" that this style requires a whole lot of yardage (fabric). For example, the three tier skirt in the first picture uses at least seven yards of fabric. Fabric can be anywhere from $5-20 per yard and UP, depending on the material. Add to that thread, elastic and/or clasps (nothing here is going to use zippers, I'd guess) and other potential notions and you'll find that just that one skirt can cost a minimum of $45 just in supplies before you pay someone to assemble it. Now what you're hoping for is several layers of things like that, so an entire outfit is going to end up with upwards of 14 yards of fabric... But it would look FABULOUS ( ... )
